"Gross, we smell" He lifts his shirt up and sniffs it.

"They'll smell us a mile away. I'd rather smell like dog than be dead" I say back, silently agreeing with him.

We stare at the patrols. They smile at the alpha before shifting and running off. The Alpha kisses Faye before kissing her swollen stomach and shifting. A few other wolves followed him. The Luna goes back into the house.

"Let's go" I check my silver rings, my two handguns that are tucked into my pants. The shots of wolfsbane in my boots and the blade that sat next to my blade. Joseph stared at me. As if asking 'are we really doing this?'

"Don't make me say it again" I warn. He stands up reluctantly. I follow him. God, did they have to make the pack house in the middle of a clearing? I gesture for him to run first. And he does. He sprints to the porch. He looks inside the house then turns back to me with two fingers to his neck. Clear. I follow him.

For the first time since we've been here, the pack house was quiet. The only noise coming from an upstairs TV.

"-and breathe" A lady says. We slowly make our way upstairs. Joseph looking through the doors to make sure no one was here. We come closer to the noise.

"Stretch up, now this is real-" I turn to Joseph and hold three fingers up. He looks guilty.

I kick the door and hold my gun out. The TV's on but no one is in there. I look around the room cautiously.

"Ellie? I don't think-" I heard a scream and turned around. Only to receive a lamp to the face.

"Joseph!" I call out as The Luna runs out of the room. I sprint after her. Joseph, who had been hit with a laptop, stands up and follows me.

"Get away from me!" The Luna screams at me. "Can't you see I'm pregnant? I'm having a baby!" She cries. She throws a glass vase at me and this time, I dodge.

"No hard feelings?" I say. She looks at me in disgust. So much disgust. So much hatred. So much fear. I swallowed. Fear. As if I was a monster.

What if we were monsters?

"What is wrong with you people!" She screams. Before I can reply, she falls to the ground. Joseph stands behind her with the injection in his hand. His face a ghostly white.

"Get her! She could've linked to her Alpha" I say quickly. Joseph lifts her up. I grab my gun and look outside the house. No wolf in sight.

"God, she's heavy"

"She's pregnant you idiot!" I snap. I had neither the patience or energy to speak to him right now. Everything he said was just so annoying. I stand behind Joseph as he walks as fast as he can with Faye in his hands. Our van is parked deep in the woods.

I hear a howl. My shoulders slump and I fill with fear.

"Well, here comes the alpha" I say quietly. Joseph's step falters.

"Shit. Shit. Double shit!" He begins a long line of curses. I turn around for a split second.

Two wolves. One huge silver one. With the most coldest and striking grey eyes I'd ever seen. Just looking at them almost brought me to my knees.

And another. Brown with a few white spots. One spot on his nose and another one on his ear.

You've got to be joking.

Alpha and Beta.

We are so freakin screwed.

"Run!" I scream at Joseph. Mission always comes first. So whilst Joseph and the Luna get to the van, I turn and face the two giant wolves. I pull my guns and shoot at them. The silver one defects easily but the brown isn't so lucky. He gets shot in the leg. I hear a whine. But it keeps moving. When they come closer to me, I pull out my blade and an injection. When the brown one comes, I stab it with the wolfsbane. It falls to the ground. The silver one ignores me so I run up to it and attempt to stab it with my blade.

It turns to me and stands up on it's hind legs. It's almost taller than me. It collapses onto me and I gasp. I kick at one of it's legs and it falls, I take my chance and roll out from underneath it. I scramble to grab my blade. By the time I turn around, the wolf has already hit me. It's claws scratching my left arm. I bite my cheek to stop from screaming and fling the blade at his eye. He moves his head and only ends up hitting his neck. He growls loudly in pain. Just as he's about to attack me, we both hear an engine.

The van comes tumbling through the trees and instead of hitting The Alpha, the fucking idiot that is Joseph, hits me instead. I hit the ground hard and groan. The Alpha goes running after the van. Joseph's just left me to die. Coward.

I stand up, and limp to a nearby tree. A twig snaps and I raise my gun quickly.

There's a wolf.

And the moment our eyes met, I forgot about all the pain in my body. All I could focus on was the green of his eyes. The green that reminded me of the forest that would surround my family home. The ones my brother and I would play in. We'd climb the trees and stay there for hours.

The wolf's dark brown fur began flying all around in the wind. It looked so beautiful. I just wanted to run my fingers through the wolves fur or even place my head on its body and we would lay on green grass, bathing in sunlight.

I couldn't move.

I didn't want to move.

But I did. I began to run. Run far away from the mysterious wolf. Run away from its mesmerizing eyes. And run to my school.
