When you opened your eyes, she was sitting next to you. Although you had not expected anything else, you weren't too sure if you wanted her to see you like this.
It didn't seem to matter to her. She didn't seem to notice your messy hair, your red face, your ugly surgery shirt. She was just smiling and her hand was reaching out to grab yours. "Everything went fine." She squeezed your hand and she pressed a soft kiss on your cheek. "If all goes well you're allowed to go home tonight."
You forced yourself to smile back at her, moaning when you realized that even that hurt.
"Just stay calm and don't move, okay?" Lydia touched your cheek with the back of her soft hand. "I will take care of you." She smiled and she stood up to press a soft kiss on your lips. "Your mother will take us home and I won't leave your side until you feel better. I promise."
