Chapter 26

Jai nervously waits for Ariana in the lobby whilst we watch from behind the array of plants. Aw, he looks so nervous and adorable. He flicks his eyes towards us and I give him a thumbs up. It's not like she'll be disappointed by his looks, I mean, the boy is edibly attractive. Luke has his camera out and turned on, ready to film. Suddenly, Jai stands as a lovely petite girl rushes into the lobby, her long hair swishing as she runs, (in heels may I add) into Jai's arms and buries her face in his shoulder as he lifts her off the ground in his tight embrace. "Oh God she's beautiful, I hate her." I say. Luke stares at me and I stare back. He frowns. "I don't actually hate her." I explain. "I just wish I looked like her."

Nevertheless, he still looks appalled. I look back to Jai and Ariana as they pull apart and she says something to him and he replies and she giggles. He slings his arm around her and they start to walk to the elevator. This is my queue. Oh boy.

I rush up to them, grabbing Ariana's shoulders. "Oh my God! Ari! It's SO good to see you again, girrrrl!" I screech in an annoying tone with an American accent, patting her cheeks.

"Oh, oh yeah.. It's.." She stumbles, smiling confusedly.

"You know what, I think we need some coffee. How long has it been?" I say still with my loud annoying soccer mum voice on.

"Oh, well, must be a while.." She says, her eyes wide and still laughing slightly.

"Oh, you bet it has!"

She looks around. "Mmhmm, mmhmm, yeah, so um, I-"

"Me? Well I'm doing just great! Although between you and me, I got some gas problems goin' on." I say, looking around conspiratorially but still speaking in a loud voice. I can hear Jai laughing. "Oh!" She exclaims. "Oh, um. Well... Doesn't everybody?" She smiles, looking a little scared. She looks at Jai, who is pissing himself laughing but trying to hold it in. She mouths "oh my goodness" to him, her eyes wide. I laugh loudly. "Oh my, girlie, you wouldn't know." I say, patting her head, even though I'm shorter than her. She laughs, glancing at her wrist, where there is no watch. "Oh my, uh, look at the time! Alright, um, I have to... Go. It was nice seeing you!" She waves. I grab her arm. "But.. What about coffee?" I say, looking alarmed. She smiles, a grimace showing. "Maybe some other time!" She laughs uncomfortably. "Alright girlie. By the way, LOVE the hair." I say, putting my hand to my chest. She smiles, looking scared. Oh, my god. This has got to be the best thing I have ever done. She waves goodbye and I wait as she walks away with Jai, (still suppressing laughs) and as she gets to the elevator, yell out, "I love the brown! Brings out your eyes! Remember, coffee!" In my loud annoying American voice. She turns and waves politely to me, and I give her the thumbs up, enthusiastically grinning. I then look to Luke and Skip who are still hiding, pissing themselves laughing. I laugh a little. "Guys, c'mon! Lets go go go!" I yell, running to the elevator and pressing the button multiple times until it comes. They run towards me and we stumble into the elevator, shouting and laughing. I hush Skip as the elevator stops and we sprint out and down the hall, rushing to our room and quickly shutting the door, breathless and still laughing. Luke turns on the tv and I grab an empty mug from the sink and we all sit down with Beau and Lydia on the couch, trying to make it look as if we'd been there for ages. Beau and Lyds give us questioning glances, and we quickly fill them in and motion for them to act casual. I cup the mug in my hands as if I'd been drinking from it, cuddle up to Luke and try to steady my breathing. We hear a sound up the hall, the key card unlocking the door and people walking up the hall, murmuring. "Hey guys." Jai says. "This is Ariana."

"We know!"

"ARIANA!"

"Oh my gosh you're so pretty."

"Hi!"

"Wow, hahaha, you look like the girl on Victorious!"
