Song for this chapter -
Hourglass - Catfish & the Bottlemen.

"And I'll say I'm sorry if I sound sordid, but all I really ever want is you."

Tobias.
We enter into the brick building, greeted by the aroma of coffee & stale cookies. Tris walks beside me. I can see the nervousness in her eyes but I know that this will surely help. It has to. I can't lose our marriage.  Divorces had always been a touchy subject for me to talk about, considering what my parents went through. To be blunt, my father was abusive to both my mother and I.

Growing up was hard, but I remember the feeling I would get every time I passed a grade. Happiness. Pure happiness, because I knew that I was one step closer to graduating from high school & one step closer I was to escaping the hell, also known as my home.

But when I was little, my mother left. I was in second grade, and I came home to see her packing her bags. I asked her what was happening and she simply told me, "Take care of yourself, Tobias. I love you." And she left. She left the house, my father, my life. She was gone like the wind. I haven't seen her since. Maybe it hurt then, as I had tears running down my face, but now, I don't feel a God damned thing.

And I think the main reason why I'm trying so hard to save this marriage - when I could just drop it all - is because I could forgive myself if I let something to important to me go like it was nothing; when in fact, it's everything to me. Tris means the world to me, and I couldn't lose her. Even if we haven't spoken much in the past two months, I still love the breakfasts that she cooks, the kisses she gives; everything. In my eyes, she is perfection. And now that I have her in my grasp, I could never and refuse to lose her.

We walk up to the reception desk, Tris biting on her bottom lip. Her eyes are alert and filled with curiousness, like a child. She is truly beautiful. With her golden long locks that fall over her back, and grey blue eyes that captivate me.

"Hi, I'm Tobias Eaton. This is my wife, Beatrice Eaton. We have an appointment today." Tris almost gags when she hears her whole name. She has never liked her name much, or so she has told me. But I figured it would be best if the office knew her first name, in case there was any paperwork involved, which I can imagine there will be.

"Ah, yes. Mrs. Andrews will see you soon. If you would like to remain seated over there, we have a few magazines, along with coffee and cookies." We both nod & head to the cushioned chairs. They're a light color brown & leather. Tris sits next to me, pulling out her phone. She types in her password as I sigh. It seems as though nowadays she is so involved in her phone. I think technology is great, but not when you're on it twenty four seven.

"Tris, can we talk?" She looks up from her phone. She nods & shuts it off.

"I know you aren't happy to be here, but I honestly think it will help." Im happy that at least she complied to come here. It took a lot of convincing, but I told her if she didn't come, we wouldn't get a refund. Of course, that was a lie, but I had to do anything to get her here. As much as I resent liars, this was for a reasonable reason.

"Yeah, well, it better work. Wouldn't want to lose money for anything." She rolls her eyes.

"Tobias and Beatrice Eaton?" We here a soft voice & look to the corner, only to find a small elderly woman standing in the corner. Is she Mrs. Andrews?
Well, shit.

"Um.. are you Mrs. Andrews?" Tris asks, standing up.

"Yes." She answers.

Tris turns to me, almost laughing. She contains it though, probably for the sake of Mrs. Andrew's feelings.

"Is this some sort of fucking joke?" Tris whisper yells at me.

"No, honestly. How about we just go in there for our first meeting and if we don't like it, we never have to come back?" She nods.

That's my girl. Normally she isn't passive, but I think she realizes how important this is to me and how our marriage is on the brink of divorce.

"Are you two ready?" Mrs. Andrews asks. She doesn't look happy, but she doesn't look sad, either.

"Uhm, yes. Haha.. sorry about that." Tris giggles awkwardly.

We follow Mrs. Andrews into a room, and there sits a cushioned chair and couch, along with a coffee table and a desk.

Tris and I sit, making ourselves at home as Mrs. Andrews gathers a stack of two or so papers.

"So, here is how the next fourteen weeks will go. Every Sunday, until our appointments are over, you two will meet me here. We will discuss your marriage problems, and find ways to resolve them. I've never had a couple that has had to come back after the fourteen weeks, so I can assure you that these sessions will work. Any questions?"

Wow, is all I can think. She really is getting down to business. I expected the "hello, how are you?" kind of shit. I guess not. But I guess that's good. After all, we aren't here to socialize.

"No.. I guess we know everything that we're supposed to." I answer after a minute. Tris nods. It's obvious that she doesn't enjoy being here, but I'll make sure to spoil her later. Or at least try.

"So, how did this all start?"
