I grumbled. Who the hell would be calling this late? I slapped around my night stand to grab it accidentally knocking the cordless phone to the floor.
“What!?” My voice croaked.
“Hello.” A chipper male voice came.
“Who is this?” I asked.
“Who is this?” He asked.
“Well, what number are you trying to reach?” I asked through gritted teeth.
“What number is this?” He inquired once again.
“Are we seriously going to quote the scream movies?” I asked.
“I guess not. Were you sleeping?” He asked teasingly.
“Well, though it may not seem like it, yes people usually tend to sleep at night.” I scoffed.
“Delilah, be nice now.” He said.
“Okaaay. You know who I am, but I still don't know who you are.” I said now sitting up.
“I think I'll keep it that way for a while.” He chuckled.
“Look, what is it you want?” I asked
“To talk.” he said slyly.
“They've got 800 numbers for that.” I said going back to quoting scream yet again.
“Heard your radio show today.” He said
“So you know my name and you also know I run a radio show.... AND you know my private line number. You are obviously someone I've met and am possibly close to.” I said saying the clues more so to myself than the mystery man.
“Is this what you are going to be doing the whole time?” He laughed.
“Unless you plan on telling me who you are... yes.” I said matter o' factly.
“Hmph.” He huffed into the phone.
“Weeeell?”
“Well, I'd love to tell you, but this is far too entertaining.” I could just hear the smirk in this guy's voice.
“I'm hanging up now.” I said slowly.
“Hey, hold on.” he pleaded.
“You! Sleep. Ever hear of it?” I asked getting agitated.
Men ruin everything! Even when you are sleeping! They either make you feel really crappy in a nightmare. Or really good in a dream... than really crappy when you wake up to find it was only a dream.
“Don't you want to know who I am?” He asked.
I sighed.
“I guess I could spare a few more minutes...”
Defeated. Completely and utterly defeated by my mystery man. -.-
