Emmett POV
I wake up with a headache. I open my eyes and realize I'm in my bedroom. Then, the events that took place after the date come back to me. Amy's been taken. I immediately sit up, feeling my headache worsen as I do so. But I don't care. I know Lexi will yell at me for doing this, but I get up and leave the room. I see Lexi and Connor sitting on the couch. He looks angry. Her eyes are red and puffy, like she's been crying.
"Connor you need to calm down..."
"Amy's gone Lexi! How do you expect me to be calm?" His eyes land on me and he walks up to me and pushes me against the wall.
"Connor!" Lexi exclaims, shocked at his show of violence.
"Where's my sister?" he says through gritted teeth.
"I'm sorry." I whisper, not knowing what else to say.
"Connor, stop!" Lexi demands, grabbing his arm. "How is this gonna solve anything?" He takes a deep breath to calm himself down, then releases me.
"Sorry." he mutters. He walks back to the couch and sits down, his head in his hands.
"You shouldn't be up right now, Emmett." Lexi says to me.
"I'm not just gonna stay in bed when Alex just took Amy." I reply and she doesn't bother arguing with me. She just nods.
"What happened?" she asks, her voice gentle because she probably doesn't want to upset me. Her and I sit at the kitchen table. I explain what happened in the car. "They took her." I finally say, my voice cracking at the end.
"It's not your fault." Connor says quietly from the couch when I'm finished. I look at him in surprise because of how he had acted earlier. "Sorry about earlier. I'm just worried about her and I guess I took it out on you."
"It's okay." I say. I decide not to tell him that I deserved it anyway. "How are we gonna get her back?"
"I think I know how to find her." I turn around and see Brett standing in the doorway of his room. He's holding his laptop.
"I can hack into the traffic camera near where you guys got into the crash." He explains. "I might be able to see the license plate of the car that almost hit you guys." He puts his laptop on the table. "At about what time did the crash happen?" I think back to when we left the bowling alley. I had picked her up from work at five, and we had spent about an hour and a half bowling.
"Around 6:30." I answer. He nods his head and starts typing rapidly on his laptop. After a minute, he turns the screen in my direction. There's a picture of the SUV that took Amy. The license plate is clear: M 5105. "That's it." I say.
"Okay." Brett says.
"Now what do we do?" Connor asks.
"Now I'm gonna try to track it down." Brett answers. "It might take a while, so I'll let you know when I find anything." He goes back into his room, probably to avoid distraction.
"What does he mean it might take a while?" Connor asks angrily. "Amy might now have that long!"
"What else do you expect him to do?" Lexi replies, walking over to where he's seated an the couch. "He's doing his best. You need to calm down." She puts her hand on his knee, trying to soothe him. I stand up. Lexi sees me and sighs.
"Emmett, where are you going?"
"I'm gonna go keep a lookout around the city for anything." I answer.
"You really should be resting." she says, looking concerned.
"I can't just sit here and do nothing."
"You two are so alike." she says, with a small smile on her face. "Go."
"I'm coming too." Connor announces, getting up from the couch. "I'll take the north side. You can take the south side." I nod my head in agreement.
"Both of you are so stubborn." Lexi says, shaking her head. I tell Brett to call us if he finds anything, and then Connor and I leave. I'm glad to be doing something, and flying always clears my head. I'm flying over the lab that was robbed yesterday when I see a familiar figure outside of it in a green tank top. Ivy.
I immediately land next to her and pin her to the wall of the outside of the lab.
"Where is she?" She doesn't even flinch at how furious I sound.
"Who?" she asks in a sickly sweet voice.
"You know who!" I answer, tightening my grip on her arms. When she doesn't answer, I try a new tactic. I put my hands around her neck, not so tight that it cuts off her oxygen supply but tight enough for it to hurt. "Tell me or I'll snap your neck."
"I don't think she would be very happy to see you like this." She taunts me. I remember the first time Alex attacked Amy in the alley of the boxing club and how close I had come to killing him. Amy didn't want me to, but after all he's put her through, I wish I had.
"If it gets her back, then so be it." Although she's trying to hide it, I can see she's becoming afraid when she sees how serious I am. I push her up against the wall harder. Her eyes widen in fear.
"Okay!" she finally says. "I'll tell you!" Suddenly, there's a a blast of electricity that comes from behind me and hits her directly in the chest. She screams and falls to the ground, not moving. My eyes widen when I see that she's dead.
"Right behind you." My heart almost stops when I realize who it is. I slowly turn around and gasp.
"Amy." I whisper. But right now, this isn't Amy talking. Her eyes are and electric blue instead of their usually light blue. They don't hold the emotion in them that they usually do. "Amy." I repeat cautiously after a minute. "It's me."
"I don't care." she answers, and she pins me up against the wall just as I had done to Ivy. I don't do anything but stare at her in shock. "Don't come looking for me." she finally says, and then she's gone.
