Thursday went by too fast, I woke up and the next thing I knew I was going to bed, now getting ready for this stupid party.
I take a look in the mirror and run my hand through my hair, making sure I look alright. I'm in a gray tee, black ripped jeans, overalls to go with it, sneakers and since I'm to lazy to put my contacts in, my black rimmed glasses. I guess I look decent.
The door slowly opens, and Cali's head pops out.
"Hey, happy birthday."
I smile at her through the mirror and push up my glasses.
"Thanks. I can't believe I'm 20."
I turn to her and she's in a black crop top with the word punk on it, shorts a little too short, a black beanie and boots. She puts out a tiny box in front of her, smiling.
"Here, it's for you. I hope you like it."
I shake my head and take the box.
"You didn't have to get me anything."
She rolls her eyes and playfully hits my shoulder.
"Just open it."
I open it and pull out a beautiful batman necklace, my mouth dropping in awe.
"Oh my god it's beautiful! Thank you so much Cali."
She smiles as we hug tightly, then letting go.
"No problem. You ready to go?"
My smile fades a little, my mind going back to where I'm going tonight. Oh yeah, the party.
"Yeah, I am. My dad's with a care taker so he should be ok."
Cali smiles and loops her arm with my, dragging me out the door.

"You know, you could of at least tried with the outfit, you wore that last week. I mean, it is a party after all."
I sigh as me and Cali walk side by side, going to the party. I close my eyes as I rub the side of my head, a little annoyed.
"Cali, do you think this is a party that I actually want to go to? And besides at least I'm going."
She nods, putting her hands behind her back and raising her head up to the sky.
"Yeah you're right I just thought you would get all dressed up to show Cody what he missed you know?"
I roll my eyes and stuff my hands in my pockets.
"That's the last thing I want to do. Besides I'm only going cause you wanted me to and you went on about speaking my mind to Cody. So can we get to this party before I regret even stepping out the door?"
Cali nods, crossing her arms over her chest, starring at the ground.
"Yeah, we're here anyway."
I look to see a lovely apartment building, about six floors or so. I chew the inside of my cheek, nervousness coming over me. Should I do this? What if this is all a big mistake?
I let out a heavy sigh as we walk in, Cali trying to reassure me that I'll be fine and that I won't regret my decision. Sadly, it's not working and I fear for the worst as we get to the room, knocking on the door. It's about 11 and I can hear people in the room, shouting, clinking glasses, music and a lot of stomping. There are so many other rooms having parties to that it just sounds like one big concert. I begin to play with my batman necklace, rubbing it and just holding it in my hand until the door opens
