"Come on it'll be fun! I don't want to tell him my friend ditched. The poor kid will be crushed."I roll my eyes as my 'friend,' Sarah tugs on my arm like a little kid begging their mom for the new toy.
Sarah isn't really my friend; she's more of an acquaintance, and someone I talk to here and there. I've only known her for one semester and she's alright. I don't think this will last after high school; we'll probably part ways when we go to college. She's taller than me, standing at a height of 5'7 while I am still at a height of 5'2, and probably will only grow to 5'4. She has red hair, gorgeous green eyes, just a perfect everything. Despite the dreading future of our friendship not making it she sure I pretty.
I let a heavy sigh leave my lips as I give in, nodding as I push my glasses up.
"Ok, fine I'll go but you owe me big time, especially with this goes south."
Her eyes light up and her smile goes ear to ear. She jumps up and down and gives me a quick hug.
"Oh thank you so much Alice! You'll love him I promise! Let's go to your house and get ready."
I smile slightly as her excited state drags me along to her car.

I straighten my red dress out as I take a look at myself in the mirror. My hair is in a side braid, like my mother's always was; I have a little make up on, black heels and my mother's charmed bracelet on.
She gave it to me when I was little, told me to only wear it when I need strength, to wear it when I need it most, when I've lost the 'light at the tunnel.' And since I'm going on a blind double date, I sure do need this.
That's what Sarah was bugging me about. She and her boyfriend Dean were going on a date and he wanted to make it a double date so his single friend could meet someone. So that's how I'm in this mess. I'm 17, I need to at least dabble in the dating field, I can't wait for Cody, he forgot about me anyway. He won't care.
I suck in a deep breath and leave my room, seeing Sarah and my dad on the couch together. She's in a simple black dress with combat boots and she looks absolutely stunning.
She smiles at me as she gets up and greets me with a hug.
"You'll be fine I promise. Dean's friend Jack is a great guy, you'll like him."
I pull away from the hug.
"Seeming as I've never seen him even though I constantly asked sure does tell me he's such a great guy."
She rolls her eyes at my sarcasm and takes my hand as there's a knock at the door.
My stomach drops and I get really nervous fast. Am I seriously going on a blind double date? Am I, Alice Rose Blue actually doing this?
A sigh escapes and Sarah is tugging me to the door. Looks like I am.
She swings open the door and I'm left standing in front of a decently tall, great looking boy. Not boys, just boy. Single. One. And that one boy is Dean, Sarah's boyfriend.
My heart sank. As much as I was nervous about this, I was kind of excited. Now, I felt like someone just stabbed me where it hurts.
Sarah has emotions of pissed off and confusion all over her face. She places a hand on her hip
"Dean, where's Jack?"
Dean looks confused too, as he whips his head looking around for Jack.
