Chapter 3:
The rich scent of the human would occasionally fade, but I was determined to go after it. A blanket of dark was stretched across sky and few stars shone. I was wandering around Holdenburg when I caught a scent. It wasn't the best scent in the world, but I followed it anyways.
I ended up in an alley. Dumpsters were placed towards the back and it stunk up the whole place. There was only a couple of rats scampering around and I wondered why the scent led me here. There was a large box against one of the walls. It was falling apart but there was something in it.
Aha. Inside of the box, laid a homeless person curled up in a torn sheet. He wasn't good looking, but he was the type of food that I would have to make do with. Quietly, I walked over to him and gingerly placed my hand on his arm. He didn't budge.
With that, I placed my hand over his mouth and bit into him. His eyes popped open and he struggled trying to push me off of him. This one's a fighter I thought to myself.
Because he wouldn't shut up, I swiftly snapped his neck and he was quiet. I fed in silence until I was full. There wasn't much left of him.
I wiped the blood from my mouth and threw his body over my shoulder. I ran deep into the forest and dug up a hole. After a couple of minutes of hard labor, I dumped his body in their and patted the soil until it looked just as it did before.
It had been a good night for hunting.
