I chocked on my words. "You're Owen Patel? As in, my great grandfather? The mysterious guy who wrote the journal?"

"Ah, my journal. That silly old thing that everyone's been fussing about."

I shook my head in confusion. "Whoa. Let me get this straight. You didn't disappear, you're still alive, and you're willing to kill your own great granddaughter? That's some fucked up shit, man."

He stretched his muscles. "The moment I figured out that zombies were real, I didn't stop. It was and still is my obsession. I left my family willing to go after them. Everybody assumed that I was dead. I left to go perform the ritual to destroy you all, but it bounced back somehow and turned me into one. I ran away and hid, thinking of how I could get back. Then one day Cameron, such a nice young gentlemen he was back then. I turned him, and we planned together to turn you all into zombies, hoping that you all would be willing to cooperate with our plan. As you know, we hit a bump in the road and things went off track from there. But I'm back now, and the time right."

They grabbed me and soon enough, I was drenched in rope and duck tape again. It was all too perfect, and it made sense now. It was an eclipse, they had not only an original, but a bloodline original, and I assumed they had a human sacrifice.

Believe it or not, a human, weak and defenseless, was tied up just like me. We stared at each other from across the room. She was scared. So was I.

I had to shut my eyes when they killer her as if it were nothing. I was one hundred percent capable of doing that and it frightened me that I could look like such a monster.

"Justine," Owen called. "It's you're turn." He held a small, sharp knife in one hand. I imagined what it would feel like, getting my flesh pulled off. He was just about to puncture my skin when small ball-like object rolled through. I knew what it was and crawled towards the cover.

Boom! It went off then Owen Patel and followers went down. I panicked, Cameron was still conscious. A shot was fired into the air and he crashed against the floor bleeding.

Through the dust in the air, I could manage to make out a figure with a gun. It came straight towards me.
