The forgotten howl of the three wolves

"Mommy," I heavily cried. "What's going on?"

"Hush, hush my child," my mommy soothed brushing some of my black and red hair out of my tear streaked face. "It will be all right."

Mommy then pushed me into a bush. After a few minutes, I think, I heard the tearing sound of flesh and then saw my mommy's body drop to the ground. I wanted to scream to her, but I couldn't, I could not make a sound, I wasn't able to. A bloody heart fell to the ground as well.

"After, after this happens you will not remember much," my mother huffed out as black blood started slowly dripping out of her mouth. "It will come back, I promise, it will come back to you some day."

After she had said that daddy fell to the ground next to her as well as another bloody heart. His eyes were rolled in and mommy stopped breathing.

"We love you, so, so much," daddy's week gruff voice said. "Don't you ever forget that, my baby girl, my little pup."

I would have whimpered, but I am frozen inside this bush, and I am still not able to make any noise.

A melodic sound pierced through the air like one on my daggers that I'm not allowed to have yet. Three large wolves appeared and sprinted into the battle of the taring of papery flesh and the cracking of hard, smooth bones. It looked like they were slightly on fire, it wasn't burning them, but was charcoaling their surroundings.

They tore the mean invaders apart three by three, one for each of the mysterious wolves as I just sat there in the bushes not moving a muscle, with silent twin waterfalls sliding down my face like it was a snowy mountain, and the leaves of the bush caught them gently as if it was the most delicate thing in the world as they slid the tear carefully down to the ground slowly.

One wolf was a coppery brown, almost a shadowed gold, with light grey specks all over. Another was a dark reddish-brown that was almost black, with white specks all over. The last one was a blackish blue with red and gold specks all over, he seemed to be their alpha, their leader. And they all had the same eyes with fire in them.

For some reason I felt, or knew, that I could trust them, but they were too late, they had already been killed, never to return or to breathe another breath on this small, tiny, rude world ever again.

I woke up screaming. Somehow I knew that it was not a dream, but a memory, one of my memory's that has been long forgotten, or had been made to forget. It was the gruesome death of my parents. The actual version, not the one that had been made for me to remember by the strange spell, but the version that had really happened.

Romano rushed in with a worried look on his face, searching all over the room for danger, I think. He took a few large steps and ended up in front of me.

"Are you OK?" Romano asked.

"I'm fine." I grumbled.

"You, you screamed, and I got so scared." He breathed out relaxing his stiff features a bit.

"It was just a nightmare." I reassured him.

"You really scared my there." Romano whispered leaning his forehead on mine.

"Sorry," I apologized before yawning. "So why are you here so early?"

He let out a quick short laugh. "You must have over slept, love."

"What do you mean?" I looked at him questionably.

"I'm here to bring you to school," he softly smiled at me. "It's already seven."

"Oh," I softly replied before jumping up hurriedly. "Shoot!"

I ran around my room getting my stuff together as Romano laughed lightly, his brood shoulders shaking slightly. He is still standing where he was before I got up, but his eye's followed me into every corner of the dark, messy room.

By the time I was done, I was puffing out air.

"Impressive," Romano smiled with amusement gleaming in his eyes. "I think you just broke an all time world record for getting ready for school."

"Shut up." I muttered.

"And then he died!" I exclaimed, braking the awkward silence between the groups.

"What?" almost everyone, besides Jackson, asked in unison, kind of.

Jackson just rolled his eyes.

"I don't know," I replied. "I can't stand it if it's quiet for too long, so I just randomly shout something out."

"You learn to get used to after a while." Jackson chuckled as I slapped the back of his head. "Ow! What was that for?"

"Nothing," I slyly smiled at him. "It was just your voice, that's all. It triggered the slap."

Jackson pouted at me rubbing his head.

"So there are some supernatural creatures around this aria," I stated pointing at a map of the state, and circling the arias that there are creatures that might help us. "As well as these three arias."

"So what we need to do is go, find them, and try to convince them to come and help us, right?" blade asked.

"Yes," I nodded at my older twin brother. "And be careful, Duilio's men, or women could be anywhere out there."

"Is there anywhere else that there may be people who can help us?" Victoria asked.

"My pack would be honored to help in the war." Johnathan said. "They are already trained, and they could also help train the ones that are willing to join us."

"Thank you." I mumbled. "We really appreciate that."

"Tomorrow we start recruiting. It will be a long and excruciating day, so go home, or where ever you are staying, and get a good night's rest, and a good meal as well." Romano ended, grabbing my waist and walking us out of our very own secret 'bat cave'.

I know that I really should sleeping right now, but I can't. I'm nervous, very nervous. I have so many worries and questions running and swirling around my mind, like:

What if no one want's to help us?

What if they are already working for duilio?

What if they all want us dead?

What if no one wants to help?

What if duilio got to them first?

What if he killed them all?

And that's only a few of the thoughts in my mind. It's dizzying.

"Sleep, love." Romano's tired, raspy voice whispered.

I turned to face him, it was hard with his arm around my waist. I put my hand on his cheek.

"I can't." I whisper back. "I'm worried, what if no one want's to help?"

"Stop worrying, it will all be fine," he answered. "Besides, we have the moon on our side."

With that I fell asleep in the arms of the love of my life, my mate, Romano.
