Margo grabbed Carlo's wrist without saying anything and dragged him back into the pub. She half ran, half walked to where a very angry Bella was still arguing with an extremely annoyed Joseph.
The only person who was being reasonable at that moment was Teresa, so Margo went to her.
"Teresa, we have to go. Now," Margo stated, staring her in the eyes fiercely.
"What? Why?" Teresa stuttered.
"Someone's ratted us. The police are here," Margo explained shortly.
"Oh, no. I'll tell Bella, you go and get in the car with Carlo," Teresa told her, trying to keep the worry out of her voice.
Margo nodded then continued dragging Carlo out of the pub. Teresa knew that stopping Bella in the middle of an argument was going to be difficult, and not very comfortable, but it was necessary.
"BELLA!" Teresa shouted. Surprisingly, Bella turned her head towards her immediately. So did Joseph. "We need to go, now."
"What?" Bella asked, genuinely surprised.
"No time to explain. We need to go now if we wanna make it out of here without being caught," Teresa grabbed Bella's then Joseph's wrist and began to mimic what Margo did.
When they were outside, Teresa let go of their wrists and began to walk as casually as she could towards the car. Luckily, Bella and Joseph understood her message. When they got the car, Teresa had to convince Bella to let Joseph come with them. Joseph decided to drive while the three girls sat in the backseat and Carlo in the front with Joseph.
As the car started to drive off, the police had seemed to catch on to what was going on and had begun chasing, sirens blazing.
"Joseph! Can't you drive any faster?" Bella snapped.
"You want fast? Then I'm sorry Teresa, as I think this is your car, as we are probably going to crash. A lot," Joseph replied as he put his foot down on the accelerator.
"This isn't my car! It's my mum's! Man, I'm gonna be killed!" Teresa whined loudly.
"Yeah, that's if you survive this!" Margo cried out over the sirens and the fact that Joseph was already going 130km per hour.
The ride was intense. Joseph would swerve right, then left, anything to lose the police who were doing their best to keep up with them.
"I have never done anything like this before!" Carlo cried out laughing.
"And you think we have?" Margo half screamed as Joseph powered right around an empty roundabout.
"You have to admit, being a criminal isn't so bad!" Joseph yelled, also laughing.
"Why's that?" Bella shouted.
"You get to do this!" Joseph yelled as he did a seriously sharp U-turn.
"I dunno, I think I'm gonna throw up!" Bella cried back.
"Well don't do it on me, what ever you do!" Teresa managed to laugh. This whole time she had been loving this. She had never laughed more in her life. It was amazing.
But sadly, like most things, it had to end. The police ended up getting bored with them and drove away.
As Joseph slowed, Margo finally got to tell the bad news to Teresa and Bella.
"He wasn't there," she stated just like that.
"What?! What do you mean he wasn't there?!" Bella almost shrieked.
"He wasn't there," Margo repeated as she shrugged and shook her head.
"What do we do now? Is there anywhere else he might be?" Teresa asked Bella.
Bella thought for a moment. "Yes there is, but not now, we need to lie low for a bit, but not at your house Teresa, the police probably saw the number plate and are now tracking you, which means they'll go to your house first thing."
Teresa nodded. Any emotion she was feeling well hidden from her face.
Joseph pulled over.
"Where are we?" Margo asked curiously.
"Welcome to the Dump!"
