Joseph sat at the edge of the bar, thinking about weather or not he wanted a Bloody Mary or a Mojito. Joseph wasn't old enough of course to be drinking, but by now he didn't care.
"I hear the Hurricane is quite a whirl," a voice came from behind him and Joseph turned. Raaj. Joseph grunted. Raaj went ahead and ordered two Hurricanes and Joseph added a Mojito to the order.
"So, what happened to you? How come you're not trying to kill Bella or any of her friends on the spot anymore?" Joseph inquired, wanting to see if there was a point to Raaj's sudden appearance.
Raaj laughed a bit. "Believe it or not, I wasn't hired to kill your precious girlfriend. Or her friends for that matter." He took a drink of the cocktail that was laid out in front of him.
"Then what were you hired for?" Joseph looked at him in a disbelieving way.
Raaj sighed. "I was hired to make it look like I was the one who was on a killing frenzy. To make it look like I wanted the money Bella stole, and that I'd kill her friends if I had to."
"So you blew up a hospital?" Joseph took a sip of his own drink, and felt the familiar burning liquid run down his throat.
"That wasn't me. I wasn't the one who sniped the girls either. But I did some research, and I know who did do those things." Raaj answered.
"Then who was it?"
Raaj's eyes rolled upwards to the ceiling, as if he was trying to remember something. "I don't know his name. But he was with you when you came in to rescue the girls. Dark hair, pale skin, short- do you know who I'm talking about?" Raaj asked then continued what he was saying when Joseph nodded, "Yeah, well him. He did it. Apparently he has some sort of addiction to it."
"What to drugs?" Joseph hadn't heard of a drug that could turn someone psycho before.
"No, to killing. Apparently it started when he was pretty young. They say his first kill was a girl who was actually friends with um... what's her name... I dunno, it starts with a T I think, and it's a pretty old fashioned name. But yeah, apparently he loves the feeling, seeing his victims scream in terror and all that. Apparently it makes him feel good." Raaj took another large swig of his drink.
Joseph said nothing. He knew who Raaj was talking about, but he didn't think Carlo of all people could blow up a hospital. Then again, an addiction was hard to come over, especially if it was something like that. Joseph would know, having had an alcohol problem for at least three years.
The first drink Joseph had ever had had set him soaring. He felt free of troubles for about five minutes and he had to have more. So he had another one. And another. And another. And it kept on going until he could hardly remember his own name. But he felt good. Well as good as one can feel when throwing up every ten minutes.
"Anyway, enough about me, what is going on with you?" Raaj said, cutting Joseph's thoughts short.
"Nothin," Joseph replied taking a sip of his drink.
"Come on," Raaj nudged him, "haven't you gotten dear little Bella to be your girl again yet? I thought you were better than that Joseph!"
Joseph said nothing and took another drink.
"Oooh, I see," Raaj said taking another swig before finishing his sentence, "Bells don't trust you no more does she? And that must hurt, seeing as I know how you feel about her."
Joseph cast a look at Raaj, telling him silently to shut up.
Raaj ignored it and continued, "Just tell the poor girl. She wants to know how you feel. Maybe then she'll go a bit softer on you, knowing that well, you have feelings even if they are well hidden."
Joseph groaned. "Look old man, Bella has interests in another guy and that's great she can have a blast with him. I don't care. Besides, there is another girl that is quite interesting." Joseph was mainly lying. As far as he knew, there was no other guy besides Matt, and she had basically declared her dislike of him the first day they met. But this was Matt Joseph was talking about, girls ran down the street to meet him. Bella would change her mind, he knew that. And the other girl he was talking about, well that was Teresa. But that was a lie. A lie to try and make Bella jealous. Which obviously didn't work.
Joseph stood up and began to walk out when Raaj stopped him in his tracks.
"You are a terrible liar. You really should tell Bella the truth you know, cause I bet that is all she really wants to hear."
