--------------------------------------> Ivy

I waited for the yelling to die down. I looked in the mirror and shook my head. A new black eye and a split lip. I lifted my shirt and looked at the bruises. I barely touched one and gasped. That was it. I had enough. I grabbed my backpack and filled it what what mattered most. I grabbed my duffel bags and loaded up my clothes and my hoodies. I took a deep breath as I tip toed out of my room. I moved as slowly as I could I get to his wallet. I grabbed the cash he had then grabbed my mother's wallet, doing the same. I knew where they had emergency money and grabbed it. I made my way back to my room as I heard their voices. I barely made it back to my room. I sent a text to my friend and asked her to meet me at the corner.

What's wrong? Did he do it again? - Angie

Yea. I'm done. I've got cash, my passport and everything I need. I need a ride to the airport. - Tay

No. I'll take you there myself. I know where you're heading. Be there in 20. Be at the corner. - Angie

I ran to my window and tossed my things out. I tossed the duffel bags first then my backpack. I took one more look around my room and sighed. I put my Simple Plan hoodie on and headed down the trellis. I jumped down and grabbed my things. I made sure that no one saw me as I ran. I got to the corner as Angie showed up. I threw my things into the back and jumped in. I stopped then I thought of something I forgot.

"I forgot Ivy!" I hissed as I ran back to my house. I opened the back gate and my 5 month old German Shepherd ran to me. I grabbed her and ran. She was only 5 months old, too young to be left behind.
"I think I'd be lost without her too." Angie laughed as we took off.

I knew how long it would take to drive to Vancouver, we left St. Cloud around midnight. It would take us at least a day and a half. I figured I'd get some sleep before we switched. There was no way I was stopping anywhere. No way I'd give them the chance to fine me.

Around hour 13, Angie and I switched off and she slept while I drove. I made one stop to let Ivy out and I used the rest room as well. I grabbed some food from McDonalds and took off again. I wasn't about to deal with stupid people. I was in a hurry. I needed to get out of the states.

It took two days to get to Vancouver. With our stops for food, it put us back slightly. I let out a yawn as I got out of the car, Ivy ran around the front court yard of an apartment building. I felt like shit, I hurt and I had to go knock on the door of my cousin's place. I hated just showing up.

As I walked up 3 flights of stairs I found it hard to breath. I found apartment 219 and knocked. I wanted for the door to open. It was 1pm. He should be awake.

"Lin?" Pierre was shocked to see me.
"Hey Pie. How are you?" I said thought tight lips.
"What the fuck happened? Why are you here?" His eyes caught sight of my black eye and he looked worried.
"Angie is with me. I need to get my stuff." I sighed.
"No, you go sit your ass down. I'll get your shit." He led me in and placed me on the couch. I rested my head back as he left.

"All I know is Justin does things. He hits her. Other then that I don't know." I heard Angie say as I woke up a while later. Ivy was next to me on the couch and I went to get up.
"Look who's awake." Pierre smiled at me as I walked into the kitchen where they sat.
"You hungry?" Angie asked.
"I dunno. I feel gross and nasty. And I hurt." I sighed.
"Let's get you cleaned up then we can talk." Pierre offered as he lead me to his guest room.

I sighed as I looked around the room and saw my bags. The room was a dark blue with white sheets on the bed. I shook my head as I started to look for something to wear. Ivy was barking as someone knocked at the door. I rolled my eyes as I picked out clothing. I went into the bathroom and got ready to shower. I stripped down and sighed. I had marks all over my body. I took a hot shower, trying to ease the pain I felt. The dried blood fell off my skin as I washed. I wished I could get rid of the feeling of dirt all over my body. I got out and quickly dressed. Skinny jeans and a long sleeve shirt. I walked back into the guest room and tossed my clothes to the floor. I walked out and saw my cousin's friends and felt a sudden rush of joy.
