'Read with me.'
You asked me to, for the hundredth time
Since we met.
It was for a hundredth time yet I still felt thrilled.
Butterflies churned my stomach as we pick up the same book from the bookshelves.
My heart raced as we started to read at the same time.
I was never a fast reader, so for you I learned.
But what I didn't know was, while I was on page 20 still falling.
You were half way already gripped.
And it hit me.
No matter how fast I try to read.
No matter how hard I try to keep up with you.
We'll never be on the same page.
