(Matty's POV)
I stared down at my best friend as I held his frail body. I couldn't believe Felix would go so far just to torture Colden. He was already asleep though. Guess He didn't really sleep well last night.
I finally reached the nurses office. I opened the door to the small room. There were three beds in the back and a desk in the corner. I made my way to the back and set Colden down.
I stared down at his sleeping face and smiled. Gingerly brushing a few strands of hair out of his face. I turned around and looked at the nurse. She gave me a clipboard and I signed him in. "I'll be back to check on him..." She nodded and moved back to her desk. I left the office with a frown on my face.
Sitting in my health class now I let out a soft sigh. Spinning the pencil between my fingers I read through the homework assignment. I was too worried about Colden though. I looked over to See a tall Pale blonde male.
Who was that? Is he new? I listened as he spoke to the teacher. His voice was rather attractive. And now that I think about it. So was he. I'm pretty sure I saw him walk into Coldens first period class earlier.
I watched as he sat in the seet a few desks away from me. Shrugging it off I brought my thoughts back to Colden. Is he gonna be okay? I can't help but worry. We have been friends since we were five years old after all.
(Flashback)
I can still remember the goofy child. He was running towards me with something in his hands. It was a wounded bird. The soft breeze running through my hair and along my Face. He stopped dead in his tracks and held out thbird.
"Matty....The birdy fell....some boy threw a stone at it and hit iin the wing....can you help it?" He asked with tear filled eyes. I stod there with a smile. I grabbedthbird so gently and cradled it. "Yeah fallow me..." I responded with a Calm voice.
We both ran to my house and held the bird out to my mom. She took it and rapped its wing up. She was a veterinarian so she knew what to do. For weeks we took care of the bird.
It was finally done healing and my mom took us to take the bird out and set it free. That was the first time I had ever seen Colden smile so big.
(Reality)
As I slowly brought myself back to reality I looked to see the new student was staring at me. Blushing a bit I looked away. Okay I can still feel his stare on the back of my head what the fuck does he even want? I looked back again. Oh thank god. He's reading his book.
A few more minutes passed and the Bell rang. As I was gathering my things the boy came over. I stopped in mid packup as he stood beside me a small hint of a smile crossing his lips.
I looked at Him then continued to pack. Hoping he would leave but he was still there. He was just standing there like a fucking statue. Can I kick him now please just once? I finally decided to open my mouth and say somthing. "Yes Can I help you?" I finally asked with annoyance peeking through my voice.
He nodded his head. "I saw you talking to someone I had recently met this morning. Are you Colden's friend?" I looked to him. My lips formed a perfect line. "Why do you ask?" Jake shrugged then scratched the back of his neck. "I don't know...I guess I was wondering if you knew where his fourth period class was?"
I glared at him for a moment then shook my head. " I dont know his fourth period class, if you want I can tell him you were looking for him..." I watched as Jake nodded his head. But before he could say anything else I waved goodbye and left.
