The Wrong Path

Alone?

I didn't know what happened to me I couldn't control my body. I was running across the glade and went into the maze. Then as soon as the doors closed I felt back in control again. I was so confused but also scared I knew I was already dead but Seth did survive one night in here. I couldn't lose hope now I had to go hide in some vines for the night. I fell asleep in some vines but woke up from a scream. It was heading my way when I took a peek and was surprised to what I saw. It was a girl running from a griever. I left the vines and stood up screaming to get the grievers attention. It worked the griever left the hopeless girl and came running at me. I started to run towards it and slid underneath it slicing its stomach with my pocket knife. It fell to the floor and screamed one last time till it went silent.
     I was actually surprised I didn't know that would work. I killed an actual griever. I walked over to the girl that was out of breath and was on the maze wall curled up. I took out my hand to help her up. She looked confused and scared to death "what just happened" she asked. I never saw her in the glade which confused me so much usually a greenie would come up the box. "That right there is a shucking griever that would of killed you." "Who are you" the girl asked with a confused look on her face. "I'm not going to say just yet until I take you back to the glade." "What's the glade" she asked. "It's the place where I live at" I told her while walking away but she knew that she had to follow.
     We walked for hours while the strange girl followed asking questions about where we were and who I am. Of course I didn't answer she was a random girl not from the glade that just randomly appeared in the maze. I would have to ask Nic what would we do to her as soon as I get back. I couldn't trust her just yet she didn't come up the box like the other greenies did. "Are you ever going to talk to me or are you just going to walk not knowing where to go" she asked. That one question just got me so mad I don't even know why. "Listen we are in a shucking maze if you didn't notice. There are monsters that are called grievers that want to kill and sting us out here. I have been in this maze longer then you have. I know the paths more then you so why don't you just shut that shucking mouth of yours and just follow me. Unless you would rather die in here by a shucking griever!" I yelled at her knowing she was listening in shock.
     We walked till morning and heard the maze doors open. I started to run towards the sound while the girl ran far behind me. Everyone was there as usual but it was different some of the Gladers had spears in their hands as if they were ready to fight something dangerous. They put their spears out as soon as they saw me. The girl was still around the corner following behind me. I put my hands up in surrender and smiled. They put their spears down and let me through everyone was so happy to see me which was a big surprise. Then everyone ran back to the doors and put their spears up again once they saw the girl. Why was everyone being so defensive now. She looked terrified. I guess I had to help her out "Put the spears down guys. She's a greenie but she is different from the rest she arrived in the maze." I explained giving her a glare. I don't know why but I didn't trust her just yet. She came from the maze not the box but I had to follow Nic's rules I had to trust everyone.
     I ran up to the girl and asked her for her name. "It's Gracey sorry for making you so mad out there." "It's fine right now we have to get you started on your new job. You will be starting with Slicer with Samatha. She is the Keeper of the Slicers. You will be following her for the rest of the day besides lunch of course. I showed Gracey where to go and talked to Sam about her then I left them. I walked over to the homestead to get some scratches healed from Kadi she was one of the new greenies that came while I was out in the maze. She healed me up and I went to go eat breakfast I haven't ate since I left.
     Peyton was so happy to see me alive so I ate while I listened to her talk until I finished. I cleaned my tray and headed to the deadheads for some time to myself. "How can you still be alive during all that. I am surprised that you made it through the night. You should also be thankful for giving you the idea to cut that grievers stomach. You would've been dead by now if I hadn't told you" I looked around to see where that voice was coming from. I guess I was going insane still since the voice sounded like it was in my head. I took a long nap against a tree after that. I woke up to a snap of a branch behind me I looked back to see nothing. I was thinking it would be the two kiddish people Tony and Luke. I stood up to look around nobody was there. Then before I turned back to go my favorite tree I was presented to a knife in my face. I tried to scream for help but couldn't. I looked to the side to see Corah pointing the knife at me and covering my mouth. I put my hands up in surrender but I knew that signal wouldn't work. "You should of stayed in that maze while you had the chance to die" Corah said still smiling.

Sorry about the slow updates but I promise I will update on the days just at random times. Also a good friend pointed out a lot of my mistakes in these last chapters but am still continuing because I never even noticed them plus I also think it's pretty funny when I make a lot of mistakes while someone points it out.
