The Wrong Path

Seth's Turn

It was a late afternoon Luke, Jenny, and I were mapping out our sections today. We then talked about what we did and if we saw anything unusual. Jenny pointed out that there were greenies coming from the maze but she didn't know where though. "We have to figure that out soon it just might help us get out of this shucking hole" I said walking around the maze table. We were all there for hours but soon enough Jenny and Luke went to go to bed. I was left alone in the map room stressing out. I wanted to leave this hole so much. I never really had time to myself or had fun besides when we celebrated. I never really understood how people can be here having a fun time.
     I thought that tonight would be my chance to have a quiet and peaceful moment with myself. I went over to the builders area and took a piece of wood. I then went into the deadheads where everyone goes to relax. I climbed a tree and sat on a branch. I took out my pocket knife and started to carve the wood into a tiny cross. Once I finished it I looked at it and it was smooth and soft. I put in my pocket and fell asleep for the night. I was awaken by a branch snap I wasn't surprised there was a lot of branches. I stood up on my branch and jumped off looking at a shadowy figure. I tried to look closer at the shadowy figure and saw Corah walking towards me. "Shouldn't she be asleep" I told myself. She was now staring at me with a confused look. I was also confused she was just standing there staring at me.
     For awhile I felt uncomfortable and walked away. As soon as I turned my back towards her. She tackled me to the ground and started to punch me in the face. "I couldn't hit a girl but she was punching me so I had to protect myself" I said to myself. I kneed her in the stomach which loosened her grip to my wrists. I flipped her to the ground so that I was now on top of her. "Why are you doing this Corah? Did I do anything wrong to you" I asked tightening my grip to her wrists. She didn't answer she just struggled trying to get out of my grip. After awhile she gave up and lied there with her eyes shut then she opened them again. "Seth what are you doing. Get off of me" she said screaming and pushing me off of her.
     She stood brushing the dirt off her and holding her stomach in pain. "Why would you hurt another Glader Seth. You heard Nic, if you break one of the his rules you have to be punished." "Yea I know Corah but can't you see what you did to me. You bruised up my face and am bleeding from my nose" I said yelling at her while touching my nose looking at the blood in my hands. Nic and Luke came running through the trees with spears in their hands but before they came Corah slammed a rock on my head. Then last two things I saw was Corah running away while Nic and Luke ran towards me carrying me to the homestead. Then I blacked out.

I know this was short but it was all Seth did that day until he blacked out from Corah. Even though Corah really  was being in control at the time she still wanted to kill Jenny back at the time. This might be a short book but am planning maybe on making a sequel with the same characters of course.
