We all were running towards the grievers ready to fight. Everyone seem to have the courage to fight and I was happy for that. They were all fighting for their friends and for what they believed in. I saw a griever standing on top of Tony he was struggling to get free but it wasn't working. I started to run as fast as I could but it wasn't fast enough because of my messed up ankle. But I didn't care about it I had to help him so I jumped on top of the griever and started to stab it over and over taking all my angry on it. Tony was fine but he didn't have time to be thankful so I told him to keep on trying to fight.
We were losing so many Gladers but to be honest I didn't know half of them so I didn't really care about them. At the corner of my eye I saw Corah she wasn't being attached and she didn't even looked scared she was just standing there smiling. I knew she was against us so I couldn't let her live after this. I kept on fighting for my life but I needed to make sure my friends were still alive. Seth and Nic were fighting side by side. Luke and Tony were fighting together as well. Then there was Kyle, Gracey, and Peyton the three that I didn't get to know as much. Kyle and Gracey reminded me of the girl in homestead so I had to run after her. She was finally awake with a terrified look on her face. She was sitting in the corner of her room. I told her she had to be brave and help us fight the grievers. She didn't really understand what was happening but she help us out anyways. "Just make sure you cut their stomachs" I nodded to her and let her be. I forgot ask her about her name. "By the way my names Meredith" she said yelling across the glade.
I went on and kept on fighting. There was just a couple of grievers left. Then it was all over I took a look around there was Gladers bodies, griever bodies, and blood everywhere. A few of us were injured and few of us shaking from what just happened. There were fires on buildings but the worst part was that the map room was all ready turned into ashes. Seth worked so hard on the maps in there but he still didn't look surprised he remembered all the paths in the maze in the back of his head. I guess we had nothing to worry about. Kadi was going around healing everyone while Peyton handed out water for them. Nic, Seth, and Luke were talking about the maze doors and the grievers. Kyle and Tony were talking about what just happened. While Gracey was explaining to Meredith about everything the maze and the glade.
I went to go have a little chat with Corah. "So how was battling those grievers today" Corah said smirking while I was walking up to her. "Just great thanks for asking slinthead but I've noticed that you weren't fighting at all. You were just standing here and smiling. Why is that?" "Cause I know everyone was going to die either way. I didn't kill you cause they told me that this was going to happen and I knew that they wouldn't kill me. Now that you know I must go and help them" she said running towards the box and it took her down. I was shocked and confused that it didn't kill her but that meant worst things were coming our way. I had to tell Nic that we had to go into the maze and leave now. They all agreed and everyone started to pack things we needed the most.
There was only twenty of us left and we had to make it last. We all gathered near the maze doors and Seth gave us a long "inspirational" speech. Everyone was scared of what Seth said he didn't really comfort everyone but he was telling the truth it's dangerous out there and we had to stay together. Seth, Luke, and Nic lead the group through the maze. Tony was in the middle of the group so he wouldn't get hurt as easy. I stayed back to make sure nothing snuck up on us. I knew that Corah would try to hurt us again and wanted to kill some of us.
We all took a break while Seth stood at one end and me on the other guarding everyone. Everyone slept safe and secured but it wasn't as comfortable as the glade. Seth looked so worn out that someone had to take his place. I woke up Luke and asked him but he didn't want to get up so I asked Nic he of course took Seth's place and Seth went straight into a deep sleep. Nic and I stayed up all night guarding it was unusual that no grievers came by to kill us but I was grateful for that. I was the only one who hasn't slept since the grievers attacked. I really didn't mind it I just wanted to make sure my friends were safe. They weren't happy that's for sure but Tony would always try to cheer us up it never actually worked though. Gracey would always company Tony by actually talking to him. Peyton would always have long talks with Kyle and Meredith which Kyle sometimes never actually listened to either of them. He seemed to zone out into a distance thinking about something. I never really got to talk with Meredith, Gracey, and Kyle. We would just have short conversation and leave each other be.
