The bus ride was extremely bumpy. Foul odors wafted from the seats and air vents, making the ride extremely uncomfortable. None of this seemed to bother you though, your mind was set thinking about the mysterious boy you had run into just a few minutes ago.
You rested your head on your hands, still furiously blushing. Questions swirled around in your mind.
What was his name? Where did he live? Is he attending the same highschool as me?
You sure hoped so.
Shifting around on the lumpy, deflated seat cushion, you reached for your new phone to see how it worked. As soon as your hands got hold of the rectangular object, the weary bus jolted to a sudden halt, throwing your body forward. Your phone flew out of your fumbling hands and landed far from your reach, on the filthy bus floor.
"Crap!" You exclaimed a little louder than you intended.
The door squeaked open and the passengers crammed into the isle to file out. You sat in shock, panicking. Everyone's feet dragged along the ground causing the phone to skid further, and finally off the bus.
Acting quickly, you raced towards the door, and crying out before tripping over the steps completely landing on your face on the pavement.
"Owwww..." You groaned. Your chin lifted up, low and behold, your phone was right there in front of you.
"Hey, are you having Déjà vu right now?" A familiar voice laughed to your right.
You scampered up, grabbing your phone and quickly dusting yourself off. Turning your head, you saw that same boy from earlier with a cheeky expression on his face.
"You! I uh, mean hey. Hi." You tried hard to play it cool, but you couldn't stop staring at his innocent face.
He laughed quietly, his cheeks glowing red. "I don't think we properly met, I'm Nathanael. Are you heading to the highschool?'
"Oh, uh yeah! I am actually. I'm a new student. Just moved here from up North." You lied, immediately feeling bad.
"Well in that case, do you want to walk there together?" Nathanael asked eagerly. "I mean, if you want...you don't uh, have to say yes..." His words trailed off as he looked shyly at you.
"No, I'd lov-like to." You stammered.
He smiled graciously and you both set off from the buss stop towards the high school.
In class
After finding your locker and gathering up your books, you went into full suspicion mode. Every person you saw could have a miraculous. Ladybug and Chat Noir could be anywhere.
You must have looked a bit funny glaring at every student who made eye contact with you, so you straightened your posture and put a confident smile on your face.
This is it, you thought anxiously, my first class as a student, I can do this.
Hugging your books to your chest, you silently made sure that your sketchbooks were secure in the book slip.
You walked in, spotting a chalkboard to the left and rows of elevated desks leading up to the top right of the classroom. Students were hanging out at each other's desk, waiting for the final bell to ring.
You just stood there, awkwardly peering out at your new class. There Nathanael was, sitting in the back of the class, doodling something his notebook. Finally a familiar face!
Hugging your books tighter, you climbed up the steps to his row. Before you could say anything he turned towards you and smiled.
"First period history too?" Nathanael inquired happily.
"Yup! Is anyone siting here?" You gestured to the seat next to him.
"No, go ahead."
You sat down gingerly, both of you not saying a word. Eventually, Nathanael continued sketching, and the class began.
The whole lesson was a blur, your only attention was to the people in the class. Any of them were suspects.
Although you didn't know, they were right in your history class.
