Ladybug flashed you a twinkling smile, before grabbing her yo-yo from her waist. She gripped the flat end in her dainty hand, almost hesitant to cleanse the akuma for good.
"De-evilize!" She shouted, scooping up the strangled dark butterfly with her yo-yo. Red sparks and lights illuminated the room, reflecting off of every surface hypnotically.
It all seemed to happen in slow motion as Ladybug released the now evil-free akuma into the air. The butterfly then fluttered to the corner, joining a few of the remaining ones.
Everyone was silent for a moment, hearts swelling with emotion and relief.
You were the first to speak up.
"It's over now..." You breathed, pulling everyone into a hug. They were speechless, happiness clogging their throats.
What it really over? Is everything finally solved? You wondered.
Outside, choruses of voices rang out, calling in confusion. They grew louder, spreading throughout Paris. Floods of people sprinted through the streets, squinting at the sunlight and clutching their hungry stomachs in pain.
Everyone slowly walked over to the window, huddling together dazedly. You peered left and right, spotting your allies, your best friends.
The bright sunlight of a new day shone down on you all, illuminating your exhausted and relieved faces.
Rays of gold casted a flower like
pattern in the ground behind you, instead of a dull grey.
Nathanael wrapped his left arm around your waist, looking down at you with bright teal eyes. Your face heated up, and Nathanael seemed to tell. He let out a short laugh, and kissed your cheek.
"Looks like we have two tomato heads," Chat Noir remarked, nudging Ladybug as they both reverted back to their secret identities.
"Who knew going outside would lead to this?" You suddenly giggled, thinking of the irony. "I wanted to lead a normal life without any dark magic or superheros, and now look at us. We saved Paris!" Your eyes widened at the thought. "I-I-I saved Paris!"
"You really did, " Marinette stated proudly. "Now, we should probably go help those people that we just saved...you hero." She joked lightheartedly.
"Yeah..." You smiled back, following everyone towards the middle.
"Plagg, claws out!"
"Tikki, spots on!"
"Slade, transform me!"
"Aubrí, wings out!"
And you all leapt out of the newly opened window, forward, onward, to whatever lay ahead.
All you knew, it was outside.
