It's all your fault
You did this to everyone
He'll never love you.
Violent thoughts swirled around in your head, making you wrench in pain. You held yourself steady, thick tears running down your face.
Dust was everywhere, most likely from the akumatized tornado. You sobbed silently, wondering if you would ever smile again.
Your friends were gone. Passed out for possibly forever. They'd die without proper medical attention.
Because of you, Paris is doomed, you scolded yourself, digging your nails deeper into the skin of your small hands.
Your feet continued to shuffle along the streets, as heavy as your heart.
The chill of loneliness ran through your blood, sending shivers up your spine.
But something clearly wasn't right, you could hear another pattering of feet down the opposite end of the road.
You turned your head to the side, anxiously trying to see what was coming through the smog.
A tuff of red hair emerged from the fog, and a distinct human outline was traced out as it revealed itself.
Nathanael, and he was untransformed.
Your heart skipped a beat as you raised your hands to your mouth. Words seemed to fail you as you stared at the shy, helpless best friend you knew so well.
Without thinking, you took off towards him, gasping and panting joyously.
Nathanael stopped in mid step, spotting you running in his direction. He gasped, smiling genuinely.
The wind swirled around you both, seeming to magnetically draw both of you together.
Your eyes locked as you jogged to a stop, gaping slightly. Nathanael sprung towards you, laughing.
He wrapped his arms around you, and you buried your face into his shoulder. You both rocked back and forth, letting your emotions spill out.
"I'm so sorry..." He choked out through tears. You both clung onto each other, never wanting the moment to end.
Nathanael pulled away from you slightly, grinning from ear to ear.
A moment passed where you just stared into each others eyes, forgetting the past and starting anew.
You fidgeted from warmness when he placed his soft hand on your cheek. Your hands rested on his back, rising and falling quickly with nervousness.
Nathanael's smile widened, biting his lip adorably.
Without warning, he pushed your head towards his, leaning in.
Your lips met, sending a chilling warmth through your body. He kissed you gently, pulling you closer into him.
You kissed back, a surge of happiness moving through your chest. The gap in your heart finally filled.
Eventually you broke apart, the smiles on your faces permanently plastered there.
"B-but, why?" You managed to stutter in awe, your faces still inches apart.
Nathanael leaned back more, placing his hands on your shoulders, and you did the same.
"When I said those things to you, I know I had made the biggest mistake of my life. I couldn't bear losing my best friend." He mumbled lovingly, not taking his eyes off of yours.
You tried to speak, but only half distinguishable sounds came out of your mouth.
"No need to speak," Nathanael grinned.
He kissed you again, but lasting longer, and you enjoyed every second of his warmth.
For the first time in a long time, you felt genuinely happy.
