"Jenner, your girlfriend is here," Penelope said casually as Kendall arrived at work. She rolled her eyes, before asking where Cara was.

"Waiting room again. Damn, her mind's messed up, huh? Too many of your sessions. You gotta thank her, she's paying you so much money. "

"That's one way to say it, Pen. Good morning," Kendall smiled sweetly, and proceeded to the waiting room. It was not like Kendall had anticipated for Cara to come, she was just happy. Five years had done its time, Kendall needed to be reunited. And a stroke of luck had hit them.

"Kendall!" Cara said as she jumped onto the younger girl, smiling like a little child. Kendall hugged her back, but as her hands travelled to the lower part of her back, she felt something different. There were more bandages than ever, and they all felt so messy and uneven. Kendall didn't want to freak Cara out by saying her doctor may be a horrible one in wrapping, but she gave Cara a questioning look.

"It's nothing, Kenny. Just a little more open, the wound. Doctors said I'll be fine," Cara could sense Kendall's anxiety.

"You walking the runway, that's bad. It'll open up more with more exercise. I seriously think you should stay at home, you know. I know your schedule's busy and all, but-"

"I'll be fine, Kendall. Besides, it was nothing. Just a small wound. It's not like there was a major infection. "

"Wait, there was an infection?!" Kendall pulled back from the hug.

"No no, I meant, yes, there was, but..."

"Cara, why didn't you tell me earlier?"

"What for?"

"I could've taken care of you more, I could've-"

"Kendall, take a good look at yourself! Your hair is thinning out, you look skinnier and as frail as ever, and you're cold. You don't look good, and you're worrying about me?"

"Worrying is what I do, Cara. Taking care of other people's worries is my job. I hope you remember that. "

"When was the last time you had a holiday?" Cara shot her a look. Kendall could only look away.

"Harry took us to a place, not very far, but it was nice. "

"When was that?"

Kendall sighed.

"That's not important, Cara. Come on, let's go get something to eat or drink, you could use something. "

They rode in Cara's Lamborghini in silence. Kendall was playing with her frail fingers, and Cara's eyes were focused on the road. She occasionally took a look at the girl beside her, smile, and turn back to the road, noticing something missing, whether it was the beautiful dress she used to wear now barely clinging on to her smaller frame, or the emptiness in her eyes. Cara wanted to fix that, but she didn't know how.

They arrived at a small coffee shop by the street. It had a nice view, and both of them quickly settled down and ordered their drinks. While Cara ordered a sugary coffee, Kendall only smiled and ordered a simple plain green tea. Cara ordered a club sandwich, Kendall ordered a small salad.

"You're not eating anything. And this is coming for a model, you know," Cara said as she grabbed Kendall's plate and exchanged it with hers. Kendall stared at the plate before her for a minute, before sighing and taking her plate back.

"You eat. You need more energy if you want that blood to clot and stop your bleeding. I'm fine," the brunette said wearily, before taking small bites of the salad. Cara didn't feel right, and she didn't want it to be this way. Was Kendall anorexic? Or was something impacting her to act this way? She was staring at the girl for far too long, because Kendall shifted uncomfortably in her seat, before sipping her tea.

"Let's go, I'm done. "

"No, eat some more. "

"Cara, don't. "

"I can't help worrying about you, Kendall. "

"Cara, it's fine. I'm alright, let's go. You have no right to see how I am, anyway," Kendall got up, and walked slowly back to the car. But out of the corner of her eye, she saw them. Camera flashes. Cara better hurry if she didn't want rumours to resurface. The modelling world would laugh at her. Dating a therapist? Seriously?

---------

As she unlocked the door that night, Cara felt an emptiness in her soul. Maybe she should go over to Kendall's, or maybe she should ask Kendall to come over.

Caradelevingne: come over to my house. we can have some drinks. love

She waited for a few minutes, but there was only the delivered sign. Whatever it was, Kendall hadn't seen it, although it has appeared on her phone. Whatever, she could be asleep.

Cara didn't know why or what made her go to a bar. But she did. She put on a fancy red dress with embellishments, some earrings and smoky eyeliner. It wasn't like she was looking for a potential relationship. All she needed was to down some drinks. It won't be that bad.

Except it was. It was everything that turned out to be the worse.

Cara stepped into the bar, with the overlooking loud music and dim atmosphere. She found a seat, and started to grab the drinks, but she couldn't focus. Because her mind was in one way or another fixated on a brunette a few seats away.

"Kendall?" She managed to croak despite the loud music. The girl turned, and smiled.

"Cara, nice to meet you again. You forgot me after the party you know..."

"Kendall-"

"I'm Teresa, silly," she smiled. Damn it Cara, not every brunette is Kendall. Although she did remember Teresa, there was a tinge of disappointment.

"Sorry there Teresa. Come closer, let's get drunk tonight. I don't want to feel. "

"Sure. I'll help you. " she said as her lips brushed lightly over Cara's cheeks.

As the bed creaked loudly that night, Cara felt better. It wasn't Kendall, but if Teresa could give her the pleasure, she wouldn't mind it. Who needs Kendall anyway, she thought for a while, but hesitated. No, Kendall wasn't important. Why chase someone who keeps pushing you away?

---------

Kendall couldn't sleep that night. She missed a warm presence. She needed to get out. It was toxic.

Slipping into a simple hoodie and tight jeans, she got out. A quick walk wouldn't be that bad. She could possibly be more refreshed, get fresh air in, all at 2am in the morning. Working never stopped until midnight where she was. It was a tough job, and shifts were quite uneven, but Kendall does get through. She could quit the job, but her masters' degree in university would've gone to waste. Besides, she didn't want to spend Harry's money. That player probably was sleeping with so many more girls.

She found herself driving around the city. It wasn't the best idea to be jamming loudly to music late at night around town, but she felt as if she needed to be somewhere.

She ended up in a place called home five years ago.
