"I don't know about you, but I'm feeling 23," Cara chuckled, her voice hoarse but welcoming. Kendall had surprised her with a small cake for them to share, as it was Cara's last day. It was a miracle if she could survive anytime now. Kendall felt the tinge of sadness, but she smiled through it anyway. She pushed the cake nearer to Cara, allowing her to blow the candles, signalling she was officially 23. Kendall chuckled, and hugged the older girl.

"I love you Kendall. Thanks for sticking by me. You're my miracle," she said softly in Kendall's ear, and Kendall wanted to cry, let the tears flow, but she fought it back, not pulling away from the hug until Cara did herself because she was in a coughing fit.

It was a few hours later. The Doctors came rushing in. They were smiling and they brought someone along. A man. He was in his late 20s, had short black hair, and a very nice vest. Kendall remembered standing up, in a daze, before someone explained it to her. She remembered smiling, laughing, crying, before hugging the man tightly. She remembered the man sitting next to Cara, as the Doctors pulled her away. She remembered being calm for the first time. She remembered going to a fast food chain for lunch, before rushing back to find out its all been done. The man had left, but Cara was finally peacefully sleeping, but closely monitored. Kendall felt a rush of relief; only a few more hours. She can wait that long.

"Kendall, Kendall. Wake up," she felt a soft nudge on her hand. Kendall didn't want to wake up, but she remembered the voice. The voice of an angel.

"How are you feeling, Cara?" She smiled.

"I'm good. Thanks. What happened...? I feel fine again. All I knew was someone donated blood, and saved me. Who-"

"He's not important. But hey, you're alive. And I'm so goddamn happy," Kendall rushed forward to hug her.

"How much do you love me?"

"This much," the brunette embraced her, and gave a soft peck on the lips. The blonde smiled into the kiss, and kissed her back.

"That's not a lot, you know. "

"How much more you want, baby I've got it. "

"You're one of a kind, Kendall. "

"I know. "

"So what now?"

The younger girl pulled back, before she shrugged. Both were at the peak of their careers, and had managed to get a newer mansion, this time nearer to the city. They were girlfriends again, and both were happier than ever.

"What day is it today, again Kendall?"

"13th February. It's a nice day, isn't it?"

"I had a friend whose birthday was today. She was really nice, you know. I think-"

"Cara, what are you trying to hint?"

The blonde chuckled. "Kidding. I'm sorry. Let's go. It's date night. "

As they fought through the massive load of paparazzi, Kendall and Cara finally managed to get in the car, and drive off to the beach.

They settled down at a secluded area, and since it was night, the wind blew at their faces, and Cara gently took off her cardigan for Kendall.

"Oh, you're so sweet."

"I know right. I'd freeze to keep you warm," Cara smirked.

"Shut up. Come on, the food's going to get cold."

As they enjoyed their meagre sandwiches and orange juice by the cooling sand and saltwater, Kendall finally felt at peace. Maybe this was what love felt like; something both parties had for each other. Not just something passionate that kept one keeling over for a short time.

Kendall noticed Cara flinched when they held hands, and there was a certain edge when she talked. Nervousness wasn't a good sign. But Kendall didn't want to ruin the moment and just pretended she didn't notice.

It was only when Cara got up and gestured for Kendall to get up too did she realise something was happening. God, is this really happening? It is.

Because the blonde got down on one knee; and smiled, before pulling out a velvet red box.

"Kendall Nicole Jenner, I've been loving you for the past five years and more. And I can't to go one day without you. And I can't believe I'm actually doing this, but...will you marry me?"

The tears started flowing.

"Yes. Yes!"

"Really?!"

"Yes, of course. Why would I not?" The blonde cheekily smiled, before standing up and getting themselves in a deep, longing kiss.

Next year, they finally exchanged rings at the altar. Kendall didn't forget the date. 13th February.
