It was fate. Kendall knocked on the door ever so softly, and she could hear muffled voices upstairs. She didn't want to suspect anything, but it definitely piqued her curiosity. Knocking a few more times and realising nobody would answer the door didn't help. Pulling out her phone, she saw the message from Cara. It was sent at 8:42. Too late.

  Still, Kendall replied.

kendallj95: I'm downstairs at your house if you want to meet. Sorry for late reply. Will be waiting for about 5 min, and I'm going. sorry for the disturbance.

No reply at all. She could still hear the voices inside, and wondered if she had the wrong house; but no, it was the same one ages ago. Kendall pouted, before turning her heel to leave, but as she entered the car and was about to drive off, she saw, by the balcony, a girl. It wasn't Cara because she could recognise Cara anywhere. But the girl was leaning against the balcony, gazing down at Kendall in a disturbed manner. Kendall raised her eyebrows, before she saw a figure behind wrap their hands around the girl's waist, slowly kissing her. The figure was someone Kendall knew. She watched for a minute, before the figure pulled the girl back to the bedroom. Well, beggars can't be choosers.

"What?! Why didn't you tell me?!"

"Because, Cara, she was already long gone! You didn't care, last night, did you? You saw the car drove away, yet you wrapped your arms around my waist, telling me to come back in, don't tell me that isn't a sign?"

"Teresa you know how much I love her-"

"You don't love me?! That's very nice of you Cara, I think-"

"No wait, I do. But it's just...I don't want to let go of Kendall but then there's...Teresa, give me one week. One week's all I ask for. "

"For what?" The blonde's eyes looked sad.

"I'll sort this out with Kendall, and then you and I can live together. Forever. There's no stopping in that. "

"What do you want with Kendall? You guys have enough rumours going around as it is, why?"

"In a week, I'll see if I belong with you or her. I'm sorry to use you like this Teresa but I need a chance. If you need, my management can give you whatever sum you want, just one week. It's all I ask for," Cara looked at the girl in front of her sadly. The girl looked deep in thought, before she got up, and sighed.

"One week. That doesn't work out, you're with me. If it does, I want half your pay for a month."

Caradelevingne: Kendall. Reply to me. Please

Caradelevingne: kendall I'm truly sorry. I'll make it up to you. Let's meet

Caradelevingne: pls babe. Last night was nothing. I didn't see your text. She was nothing. I'm so sorry. Pls

Caradelevingne: I'm visiting your workplace.

The truth was, Kendall wasn't at work that day. She wasn't anywhere in LA, Cara knew, because she literally called for her company to start working and finding the brunette. It was as if she disappeared off the face of the earth, Cara thought. Why was Kendall hiding? She had nothing to owe Cara, it was the other way around. Cara felt the shame, to say the least. Last night was a mistake, and yet the coincidence was heartbreaking.

Cara had one last resort. Twitter. The fans. They could definitely help. But would her dignity allow it? Would she stoop low enough to ask the general public to help? Yes, if it came to Kendall. Shut up conscience!

Slowly, the blonde took out her phone, and typed.

Caradelevingne: Everyone help. I've been looking for my friend whom I've met in LA. She's nowhere to be seen. Her name's Kendall Jenner, hope you guys can find her. Here's a photo of us five years ago <photo attached>

She pressed tweet, before taking a shaky breath. Having to use the word friend to describe Kendall, because she had to keep silent pained her. Kendall could be anywhere in the world right now, probably happier than ever knowing Cara wasn't on her tail anymore, probably finding a new person, and having the fun of her life. Cara blamed only herself for being so careless, greedy and most of all, not valuing Kendall. You let her go again.

--------
Kendall was at an after party of an event, in the corner of the room, slowly sipping the cocktail. She closed her eyes for a moment, to let it all go, but she couldn't. Because she was in Chicago, at a random event that even seem important but she was invited to attend anyway, in a room filled with loud music that made the blood in her veins pop, and sweaty and drunk bodies shuffling aimlessly to the beat of the music. She spotted a cute person at the corner of her eye, but he was already pressing the girl he was talking to against a wall, furiously making out. A surge of jealousy and a tinge of disappointment rose up her throat. Funny, that was Cara just last night. Kendall was trash, literally. Everyone she met would only dispose of her once they realised they were either too good to date her, or they realised the chase wasn't worth it anymore. She wanted to say Harry was different, that their relationship of 2 solid years was different, but it really wasn't. Harry just took a little longer than the rest.

Kendall did what anyone would do after a heartbreak. Purge on shopping. Being a therapist herself, she knew retail therapy was the best therapy. She bought handbags, purses and the best of fanciest clothes she would not have any confidence to wear before. She got the best champagne money could afford, and got to a salon to chop off way too long hair that's been on her since a few years ago.

But it wasn't the same when she saw her phone again. Her messages had blew up, Twitter was worse, and don't even get started on Instagram. The trending hashtags were about her, and there was a photo spreading around everywhere. Her and Cara. Five years ago, on their anniversary. Kendall's arms were around Cara's neck, her head resting on Cara's shoulder. Both had bright smiles beaming for the camera, the bright smile that Kendall used to have. Maybe that was it. We were too perfect for each other, we both shined too bright. So bright that our sources of light fused and burnt out the other. And in that case, Kendall was afraid it was her.

KendallJenner tweeted: @Caradelevingne that's a cheap way to find someone and get their attention. What's the point of trying to find me when we've lost each other? Have fun with your new partner x.
