11. Investigation

A council meeting had been called and since eI was on the council I was to attend. I sat in the seat next to Master Yoda. Obi-wan and Anakin walked in, ready to fill out their report of last nights mission.

They told the council everything, I filled in a few details along the way. Master Yoda squinted, thinking about what to do.

"Whoever this bounty hunter is, he didn't want us to know." Obi-wan finished.

"Track down this bounty hunter, you must, Obi-wan." Master Yoda, most of the council nodded in agreement.

"Most importantly, find out who he's working for." Master Windu added onto Master Yoda's statement.

"What about Senator Amidala? She will still need protecting." Obi-wan asked, cross his hands over each other.

I looked at Master Yoda and Master Windu, then back to Obi-wan. "Anakin will handle that." I told them, leaning back in my chair slightly, ready to see Obi-wan's reaction.

Anakin seemed to snap out of his thoughts when I said his name.

"Anakin, escort the Senator back to her home planet of Naboo, she'll be safe there. And don't use registered transport, travel as refugees." Master Windu told him.

"As the leader of the opposition it'll be very hard to get the Senator to leave the capital." Anakin said, I nodded in agreement.

"Until caught, this killer is, our judgement, she must respect." Master Yoda said, resting his chin on his walking stick.

"Anakin, go to the Senate and ask Chancellor Palpatine to speak with her about this matter." Master Windu said while Master Yoda was eyeing me up and down.

"One more thing, Master Kenobi." Master Yoda said, "Shall go with you on this mission, Master Terrano shall." 

I raised my eyebrows, "Master Yoda, with all due respect, don't you think I should stay-" 

"No, accompany Obi-wan, you will." Master Yoda told me, making a final decision.

"Yes, Master." I told him, standing up out of my seat and bowing with Anakin and Obi-wan.

Anakin head to the Senate building to talk to Chancellor Palpatine while I walked with Obi-wan, Master Windu and Master Yoda through the Temple.

"I am concerned for my padawan, he is not yet ready to be assigned this mission on his own yet." Obi-wan expressed. 

I connected back hands behind my back while I walked next to Master Yoda's floating chair, "The council is confident in its decision, Obi-wan." Master Yoda said.

"He has exceptional skills." Master Windu said.

"He still has much to learn, his abilities have made him well, arrogant." Obi-wan told us, I raised one eyebrow.

"Yes... Yes... A flaw a lot more common among Jedi, hmm... Too sure of themselves, they are. Even the older, more experienced ones." Master Yoda said, looking directly at me.

I smiled slightly, I wasn't too arrogant. But I did have flaws, I tend to take control of things when I shouldn't.

"Remember Obi-wan, if the prophecy is true, your apprentice is the only one who could bring the Force back into balance." Master Windu told him.

"And if he's not?" I asked, they all turned their heads at me like I had grown a second head.

"Do you have any doubts?" Master Windu asked me, tilting his head slightly.
