2. Protection

I was on my way to Naboo to protect the queen as she starts her second term. Padmé felt she was in some sort of danger and trusted only me to protect her.

I also think part of that was because if she had to spend a week with a Jedi it would be me. 

I asked Master Fisto to watch over Teegan while I was, he could even take Teegan on a mission if he gets assigned to one.

As I was getting in my ship, Obi-wan caught up with me. "Hey, Anakin wanted me to ask you something."

"Too nervous to ask me himself?" I asked as I took my foot off the wing of my Jedi Starfighter.

"No, he has a class right now. He wanted me to ask you if you could say hello to Queen Amidala for him?" Obi-wan said, rolling his eyes at how stupid it sounded.

I giggled, "Of course. I'll see you soon Obi-wan." I stepped back onto the wing and sat down in the cockpit.

"Be safe." Obi-wan told me before I shut the cockpit.

"Always." I pressed a button and then glass slid over. I took off and once in Space, I parked into the hyperdrive ring and went into hyperspace.

I was only in Hyperspace for a few minutes or so but it was still boring. There was nothing to do in here, so I started thinking.

Why would Anakin want me to say hi to Padmé for him? Maybe he has a little crush on her.. I thought. If so, I should probably watch it in case it turns into something, an attachment.

I then started thinking about Obi-wan and how he looked when I just left him. He had longer hair and was starting to grow a beard. It was relatively thin right now but it was getting there.

I then remembered, he's still using Qui-gon's lightsaber... 

I kept forgetting to talk to him about going to construct a new one but it was harder than I figured it was going to be, convincing him to give up Qui-gon's.

He used it to kill Darth Maul, it meant something to him.

I was near Naboo so I came out of Hyperspace and ditched the Hyperdrive ring in Space, flying my ship down to Theed where the Queen and many guards were waiting for me in the main Hangar. 

My face scrunched up slightly as I looked around, this place brought back too many memories for me. As I landed, the Queen walked towards my ship, I sighed, realizing I needed to put the past behind me.

I got out of the ship and Padmé gave me a quick, friendly hug. I smiled, "I heard you needed protecting."

She laughed, "I'll tell you about it later, take a walk with me?" She asked.

Her Captain then came over, "I don't think going out into the city is a good decision Your Highness." He advised.

My eyebrows furrowed in confusion, "She'll be fine. I'll make sure of it." I told him.

Was somebody trying to kill her or something?

The Captain still had an uneasy look on his face, "Alright.." He agreed.

Padmé then rushed me out of the Hangar and we walked into the streets where citizens walked around happily.

"So, why do you need protecting?" I asked her.

"It wasn't my idea. But since they made me I asked for you." She told me, I nodded, "Some people don't agree with my ways of ruling, some people don't think I handled the invasion right, and some people think I'm too young to be the Queen." She explained.
