The night sky just makes it harder to see what enemy we are facing but due to its growl, we all knew what it is, a werewolf. I’m pretty sure we battled a few werewolves some time ago so logically these are members of Phantom. When I return, everyone is still standing at the front giving puzzled looks to each other.

“Let’s just go inside,” Jace says and steps in. Skylar shrugs and follows after him.

“This really doesn’t feel right,” Ivy mumbles before entering. I look up into Adam’s eyes worriedly because I’m scared of what is in there.

“Come on Autumn, I’m sure it will be fine.” He wraps his fingers around mine, which made my heart skip a beat. I could feel myself blushing to the limit a human-vampire could. I didn’t know if we are just friends or dating because it seems like both and I am still hung up on Tristan. His smile reassures me as we walk into the creepy house. Chills are sent up my spine as I look at the horrifying artworks. Every piece of furniture was covered in about three millimetres of dust but there is no werewolf to be seen.

The last I saw of Jace is when he started walking up the wooden stairs and Ivy is in the kitchen. I didn’t know what Skylar is doing but it looked like she is stealing the ornaments for some potions. There is a loud thud coming from upstairs. From our fear, Skylar hid in the fireplace, Ivy in a cupboard and lastly, Adam and I under a dusty sofa.

My nostrils flare as I breathe in the dust. My stomach growls from the pain of hunger and the sound could easily betray me at the moment. My fingers tighten its grip around Adam’s hand and I start trembling when the thuds get louder. It is an ear piercing sound that continues to echo but all the sounds suddenly clash together. Something has fallen down, something with a lot of weight to it.

“What was that?” I say in my most hushed tone. Adam doesn’t respond, he uses his free hand to lift up the ragged piece of fabric obstructing our view. Our movement made the old floorboards creak loudly so we both froze. Through the glass window, the moonlight lit the object, which had fallen down the stairs. It only looked like an object from here but I squint my eyes to see the one and only Jace groaning. I gasp slips out from my lips, a little too loudly.

“It’s Jace,” I whisper to Adam. His face shows a look of pity towards Jace knowing we can’t do anything to help him. The pressure sinks into me and my nails slowly dig into the floor. I try to shuffle from my uncomfortable position but it only makes more sound.

The growl comes back again but this time it sounds like two at once. My eyes dart around the area of Jace and I see a glimpse of two pairs of eyes. One is green and more feminine while the other is brown and masculine.  I could feel my breathing get louder as I notice these two pairs of eyes, the eyes of a bloodthirsty werewolf. A message from Ivy shoots straight through my skull.

“Someone has to save him!” She whispers frantically in my mind.

“I can’t, without my vials I’m useless,” Skylar responds with disappointment in herself.

“They’ll kill me before I even get there,” Ivy argues again, proving her point. Even if they aren’t in our views, I could feel their eyes glaring at Adam and me for hope.

“Fine,” Adam says “Autumn, back me up, okay?” I nod vigorously. I would have no defence whatsoever. “On the count of three, I’ll flip the sofa and we charge at them.” My heart races to the point where it is the only thing I hear. He lets go of my hand although I’m longing for it back.

“One, two,” Adam begins his countdown, “three,”

The crunch of the sofa smashing into the ground startles me. Adam roars in his new form, the biggest sabre-toothed tiger I have ever seen. The girl werewolf, or she wolf, pounces on him but I just give a futile stare at her brother. Her brother still amazed at my beauty, is just standing there like a lovesick puppy. I hear a howl of pain from Adam when the she wolf bites him on his back but he shoves her so she hits the wall creating a hole in it. She winces in pain and her brother runs to her for aid. The full moon starts hiding under the shadows of the grey clouds and soon enough, in a blink of an eye, they are both human. Ivy jumps out of the cupboard and clutches a kitchen knife in her hand. She drags me along with her.

“Skylar, take care of Jace,” She orders. Adam stays on the ground, drenched with sweat.

“Autumn, you know what to do.” I nod in approval and grab my small knife from my pocket. Ivy holds the knife to the girl’s neck and I do the same to the boy.

“I’m going to ask questions. There’s no point lying to me because I can read your minds anyway.” Ivy pulls the girl's hair and she grunts.

“Then why don’t you just read our minds?” The guy retorts.

“Because I want to torture the answers out of each and every Phantom member for taking everything away from each of us,” Ivy says with her teeth clenching together.

“But we’re not from Phantom, idiots.” The girl spits. “We thought you were,”

“Wait, you’re on the Top Ten too?” I interrupt and loosen my grip from the guy’s hair then put the knife back in my pocket. “Sorry about that,”

“Yeah,” the guy answers, “we know they’re coming for us,”

“Join us then.” I help both the girl and guy up. “We’re finding the rest of the Top Ten, then finding Phantom.”

I didn’t notice how stunning this girl looks; she had this boyish side to her though. I admire her caramel hair and soft green eyes, her brother looked quite handsome. His hair is all naturally held up and his eyes went green in the moonlight. They both agree to my proposition and we all head back to the ship. Skylar is tending to Jace and Adam but when she notices the two werewolves, her pupils dilate and jaw drops open. She mutters something to herself and her cheeks go a flaming red then she runs to the bottom layer of the ship.

“Sorry about biting you…” The girl apologizes to Adam.

“It was just a misunderstanding, what’s their names?” Adam asks me.

“I didn’t ask. How impolite of me,”

“Its okay. I’m Willow Heart and this is my brother, Noah.” She introduces. Noah stays in an awkward silence for the whole conversation. I could see the pain in Adam but I don’t have enough energy to heal anyone at the moment, not even myself. Night is starting to disappear so Ivy and Jace have to stay out of the sunlight. Noah steered the ship while Skylar gazes at him often trying to make conversation but stopping herself. I let Adam rest his head on my shoulder while channelling all my power into healing both of us. I clutch onto Adam’s arms as the air gets misty and I hear ghastly calls from the air. Small droplets of rain start falling but it gets heavier by the second.

Soon enough, lightning strikes and thunder rumbles. The waves crashing ferociously on the ship.

“I think it’s going to break, brace yourselves!” Skylar shouts over the stormy weather. Adam covers me protectively with his muscular arms.

“Thanks,” I mutter and peck his cheek. One lightning bolt strikes the ship and from that second on, I knew we are going under.
