“We’ll start with that end.” Fang points to the glass room Yuki is in. She’s awake and the room is all fogged up from the cold. It’s kind of impossible to see her. They stride down there with their chins up with confidence of ruining Yuki forever.

“Yuki! Stay strong!” I yell loudly so Jace and Adam wake up.

“Huh?” Adam wakes up and coughs the remaining sulphur on his face. Jace looks around confused.

“Pass me the oil.” I hear William say in the distant glass room. He splits up into three and they all start spreading the oil around Yuki’s room, missing a small corner.

“Have fun, Miss Yuki Onna.” Magenta waves while Fang drops a match on it. The room bursts into flames and steam rises from the corner Yuki is curled up in. Her sobs sound so fragile like she’s turning back into a little girl.

“No…” I whisper. She’s going to melt, I’m pretty sure her body is made of ice. Yuki couldn’t withstand the heat that is now radiating through the glass walls. I wipe the sweat off my brow and take a deep breath in.

“The player, Jace,” Magenta says with a smug smile. “Bring in Lillian.”

One of the Williams are already gone. I stare down the dark hallway where two shadows are forming. William and the girl, Lillian shows up. She’s drop dead gorgeous, probably why they’re using her against Jace, her eyes are white but you can still see her pupil. She pushes her blonde hair out of her eyes and smiles at Jace.

“What do you want me to do?” She fixes her tight, cream dress. I notice her lack of fabric on her clothing that made her appearance too provocative. Magenta whispers something into her ear and she nods. Jace’s eyes are wide and he slowly stands up, looking star-struck.

“Hey, hot stuff,” Lillian flirts.

“H-hey,” He replies shyly. I shake my head. His weakness isn’t very painful. I sigh, knowing that Adam is next. I never knew his weakness; I take a look at his glowing eyes. The sound of clattering interrupts me. I look at Lillian who is moving her hands around to control the white tiles on the ground.

“I’m tired of pretty faces!” Jace says as he tries to punch her. A tile hits him in the stomach and he coughs out blood. His body slides all the way back, hitting the glass.

“You shouldn’t have done that.” She lifts up one hand and all the tiles in that room detach itself from the floor. One by one she shoots them at Jace and he yelps in pain.

Magenta, Fang and William start clapping and she walks out of the room.

“Good job, Lillian.” Fang says. “You can go back now.”

“See you when the world is ours.” She twirls her hair and struts, like a model, back down the gloomy hallway.

“Adam Sumner. Shape shifter.” William leers.

“He’s powerful but at the same time…weak,” Fang states. He grabs Adam by the collar of his shirt and drags him out of the room. Adam grunts angrily while Fang throws him into the room I’m in. I run over to him and place my hand on his face.

“You alright?”

“Better now that you’re by my side.” He smiles.

“We’re going to kill two love birds with one stone now.” Magenta snickers.

“Don’t even touch her,” Adam says with his teeth gritted.

“We can work with that.” William shrugs.

“Sleep with your worst nightmares,” Fang whispers to me and with a thud my head hits the ground. I’m now reliving that regrettable night where I killed Tristan. The same dream, too difficult to escape from. I feel hot, fresh tears fall on my face and they aren’t my own. They’re Adam’s.

“Autumn, wake up!” He cradles me in his arms as I try to force my eyes open. It isn’t working though. The dream comes to the part where I bite Tristan, no not the dream, a memory. I can hear my grunts turn into a bloodcurdling scream. The sound of laughter fades away from Phantom. My whole body is in agony, from head to toe. I stab my nails into the ground so hard, I feel the tiles crack. I let out another horrific scream. The tears start to flood out of my tightly closed eyes.

“Adam! Please make it stop…” The pain is relieved for a second.

“I can’t.” He sobs. “I love you.” I scream awfully again and again for what feels like hours and hours because of the biggest mistake of my life.

“Ryder…” Adam says, “He’s saving Ivy.”

“Tell me about it.” I say in between my dreadful screeches.

“He made this kind of bubble and he stepped through it. He’s untying Ivy now. He’s going back through the bubble. Wait a second, how did he use his powers? Anyway, Ivy just woke up. She’s asking him to find Crucivas. Crucivas can save us, right? I mean he is from another universe probably and he has some advanced technology.” Adam commentates.

“Thanks.” I breathe deeply when the dream ends, and it starts all over again. The dream has never caused me this much grief before; it should be because of Fang’s powers. I just need something to give me happiness or even better; love.

“Kiss me.” I feel my teeth bite my lip in embarrassment.

“No, I want to save you first.” My voice isn’t working anymore; my next scream is more of a long gasp, burning in my throat. I reach for the back of Adam’s head and pull him down so his lips meet mine. The pain is getting bearable now and I’m in such great relief that I forget. Adam kisses me back, although he’s in confusion. I lift myself up and he holds my waist firmly. My lips move with his so effortlessly and our arms are locked around each other like we could never let go. I pull away and my eyes open so easily. I meet the gaze of his beaming blue eyes, which are only centimetres away from mine. I feel his warm breath dance on my wet, salty cheeks.

“Thanks,” I whisper.

A flash of dark blue ignites the dimly lit hallway and on that second I knew, Crucivas is here to save us.
