Chapter Four: I Thought You Were Beast At This

               I decided to skip my jog today so I could sleep in for a bit. I woke up around 10 this morning, smelling my mom's delicious breakfast. I sat up in bed and checking my phone. 5 Messages from Mason?

Masonator :)

Yo, wanna do something today?

Masonator :)

Zoeeeeee

Masonator :) 

Hellooooo

Masonator :) 

Helllooo, it's me. I was wondering if after all these hours you would like to hang. And go over, all our plays. 

Masonator :)  

What if I could be dying right now? Do you even care about my life?!?

I laughed at the Adele kind of message and texted him back, 

Me 

Yeah, what are we going to do? 

Masonator :) 

Idk, I can invite Lucas....:) 

Me

What is that supposed to mean? 

He just read it and didn't text back. If he was thinking about me and Lucas in that kind of way, I'm going to kick him in the balls so hard his children would feel it. 

I jumped out of bed and walked out of my room. Running down the stairs, Sam, Dad, and Mom were all sitting at the table. "Thanks for waking me up guys.", I said as I grabbed myself some eggs and bacon. 

"Hey, be lucky you actually have food.", Mom said. I sat down at the table with them. I started stuffing my face as Dad asked, "So, have you heard from Katelyn lately?" 

I nodded, "She has a cast and is out for the rest of the season."

"And you guys lost that game right?", he asked taking a bite out of his toast. I nodded again finished off my bacon. "I swear, you could eat a whole cow.", Sam said laughing as I smack his shoulder. He whimpered it pain and looked at Dad, who was laughing. 

"Mom, can I go over to Mason's?", I asked as I scraped up the rest of my eggs with my fork. 

"Yeah, but at 4 were going shopping for your brother.", she said. "We have to get him some football stuff."

I nodded and said, "I'll be home at 4 then." I stood up and put my plate in the sink. I jogged up the stairs and ran into my room. I threw on a pair of sweat pants and a Miami Heat long sleeve. I grabbed my phone and ran back down stairs. 

"Love you.", I said putting my hair up in a pony tail and slipping on my Jordans.  I walked out the door and started walking down the street. 

"Hey, I'm walking over now. Are the guys gonna be there?", I said into the phone. 

"Nah, they all have plans with chicks.", Mason said. "I gotta go, see ya in a few." We hung up the phone and I put my phone into my pocket. Mason didn't really live that far away, just a few streets down.

I walked inside and Mason was sitting on his couch eating chips. "Hey.", he said as he continued to watch TV. 

I took off my shoes and Hailey (Mason's mom) walked into the living room. "Hi Zoe, I didn't know you would be here."

"Mason just wanted to hang today.", I said as she hugged me.
