But today had been a lazy day, so it was a perfect day to put in an update🛀. I'm gonna finish up my laundry then clean a bit, and that's my day.

"Push it Parker!" Coach Meghan yelled at me. I was pushing as hard as I could, but I had to go harder. I pushed my legs faster, running faster and getting ready for the turn up ahead. My heart was pumping out of my chest and my lungs were on fire.

"Your almost there, you can do it!" Anna said. I had to finish my running at the end of practice because we were to busy going over plays and drills. Two days until we're going against the best team in the state. I still couldn't believe that we made it this far.

I pushed as hard as I could go and I felt the wind sliding past my face. I touched the blue line and finally caught my breath. "Good running Parker."

"Thanks Coach." I said chugging down my Gatorade. Anna stayed after practice with me because I didn't have a ride home and she also wanted to see me suffer.

I grabbed my duffle bag, sliding my sweatpants over my practice clothes and we walked to the lobby. "So, what's going on with Luc and you?"

"What are you talking about?" I asked, trying to hide my smile. I looked the other way so she couldn't see my face.

"I see how he looks at you Zoe." She said unlocking her car.

"We're just friends." I said shaking my head.

"But, "just friends" don't look at each other like that." She said while getting into the drivers side. I didn't know what to say. I didn't want to classify us as "boyfriend and girlfriend" yet. It's too early, and I didn't want to get into the middle of everything. Kyle needs everyone he can get, I don't want to ruin this.

"Did I leave you speechless?" She asked as we drove out of the parking lot.

"No, I'm just thinkin'" I said sighing.

"How is that kid?" She asked.

"He's gotten worse. It's terrible, I had to tell Luc myself. And his life is just so shitty right now, I feel like I need to do something." I said rolling down the window a little bit.

"Zoeboe, you can't do anything except be there for Luc. And you have been doing that, you've been there more than his own family has been. Your helping him cope with it. When he was a kid, he would always get into fights and release his anger out on everyone."

"Why?"

"Because, his parents were fighting twenty four seven. Mark would hit Samantha all the time, and Chase tried to do something about it, but it was hard. It was hard for all of them." She said pulling onto my street.

"I didn't know about all of that." I said grabbing my bag.

"Yeah, don't say anything to him about it though. It would really trigger something and he could go back to the way he was. With the drugs and the partying and the girls, all of that." She said grabbing my arm.
