He thought the phantom voice within his head had been silenced completely.
Ben Solo was terribly mistaken. He felt the voice plod through his thoughts, planting seeds of doubt among Ben's twisted emotions.
"The dream your small friend had was a prophetic one. That fate will only be sealed if you continue to train under your cowardly master.
Instead I could teach you. I could make you powerful. Even more than Darth Vader."The voice was powerful with persuasion; it had the advantage of knowing both Ben's deepest fears and greatest desires. Temptation swept over him, and it took Ben much self control to not scream out yes. He had to be cautious with his words; one word could change the life ahead of him. Ben looked down at the asleep Rey whose head was still resting on his chest. Seeing Rey reminded him that he didn't need power to be legendary; he already had something much more.
"Never. No power the Dark Side can offer can be greater than the power of friendship that flows through Rey and I," Ben told the voice with utmost confidence.
"But if you're not together?" Hearing such a horrid possibility made Ben hold Rey more tightly, causing the voice to break out into spiteful laughter.
"Heed my warnings Ben Solo. I mean no harm; the only intention I have is for you to find out what side you truly belong on. That is if you are strong enough to see it in time."
And then as sudden as it made its appearance was, the voice was gone.Ben demanded the voice to come back, to tell him the answers he knew it had. But his attempts were in vain; the voice had returned to its hibernation, awaiting the next time Ben was in a state of uncertainty to emerge. He then remembered that his mother was visiting the academy for the week; she was residing in one of the guest rooms. Ben decided to go ask Leia about Rey's dream and the mysterious voice inside his head, despite it now being the wee hours of morning.
He carefully lifted Rey off of him and held her in his arms as he carried her to her own bedroom. Ben placed the little girl on the bed gently, resting her head on the plush pillow and tucking her in lovingly. He then planted another kiss upon her forehead, which made a small smile grow on her face. Ben chuckled. He looked at the sleeping Rey in awe; even when she was asleep, she was beautiful sight to behold. He wanted to stay at her side and watch her, but Ben knew he had to leave. There were answers he needed that Leia should have.
Ben left Rey's room silently, closing the door behind him. He then made his way towards where his mother was staying in, passing by Luke's quarters on the path. Ben knew Luke would be able to answer his questions more clearly than Leia, but he'd have to go through much chastising before he received any. As he knocked on the door of the room Leia occupied, Ben wondered why he didn't go to his mother more often for advice. His thoughts were put on hold as his mother now stood in the doorway.
Leia greeted Ben with an affectionate smile and gestured for him to enter. She sensed his distress, and like any mother, she was worried and wanted to do anything that could ease whatever troubles he carried. Ben walked briskly into the room and started pacing, coming up with a plan of what he would say. Considering he rarely talked to his mother, let alone come to her for advice, he had to hope his voice wouldn't crack from how anxious he was. Ben didn't wish to reveal about the voice, but it played much importance to why he was so perturbed that he resorted to go to Leia.
"Ben, are you alright? What's the matter?" Leia broke the silence, her voice filled with concern.
Ben swallowed a cry of "no, I'm not alright." He was already ashamed by coming here; he didn't want to embarrass himself further by breaking down into tears.
"Ben, is this about your father?"
He snapped his head up sharply at the mention of his father, and the tone of his voice was just as hostile.
"What?"
"Oh dear, he didn't want to miss your birthday tomorrow but of course he got himself in another scheme with Lando or something of that sort. I'm sure he'll find a way to make up for it."
Leia told Ben with a fond roll of her eyes. Even though she knew it was hard on him, Ben had to understand that his parents wouldn't be able to show up for every moment of his life.Ben stayed silent. He had completely forgotten it was his birthday tomorrow. He'd be turning 15. A long time ago he would have been outraged at his father for missing such a special occasion, but the only emotion he felt now when he heard of Han was tiredness. Tired of the repeated excuses and false hope he provided. Those thoughts were pushed away as Ben continued.
"No, it's not about father," Ben spoke, almost pleadingly. "I came here for advice. Rey had a dream -a prophetic one- and I..."His words were cut off by his mother's stern voice.
"Ben. You should be speaking to Luke about this if it involves the Force."
"No, please hear me out!" Ben persisted. "I need help-"
"Luke will be able to help you. He'll have the answers to any question you could possibly have. There's only so much I understand about the Force, Ben." Leia told Ben as she ushered him out of her room.
"I promise, your uncle will help you." She gave him one last smile before she closed the door.Ben only sighed. He recollected his memories as to why he never went to Leia for advice; he never received any.

This chapter was 1000 words long wow. I actually had writer's block for this chapter for a few days but some ideas popped up so now it's completed! I honestly feel like my vocabulary is slacking but maybe I'm overcritical because I'm in honors English. Also, a huge thank you for 200 reads now eek, that means a lot! Until next time!
