Ellia traced her finger along the wooden fireplace, wiping away the dust that lied on top of it. It was clear to her that the house has been inhabitant for a while. She took hold of a small photo frame, containing a singular photo of her and her father. It wasn't a recent one, of course. But it was one that her father had chosen to keep in his office at Spinner's End. Ellia hadn't really mourned her father before this, she'd put on a brave face. But now all she needed to do was cry, scream, shout. Anything. Her heart was shattered into pieces and her internal souls was crying out for comfort, yet she stayed silent. Placing the frame down, she turned her back on it before walking out of the room, the house elves whizzing past her as they begun their annual clean. She hadn't spoken a word to them, and instead resorted in climbing up the shallow stairs to the landing, where her fathers room and her own was positioned. She stepped into hers, closing the door behind her as she let out a sigh of air. The same furniture, the same smell, the same feeling. Everything in her room greeted her with a warm reflection, yet it melted her heart to the core. Sixteen. And yet she could remember when she was a nine year old having her hair pulled up into bunches, finding out she was going to Hogwarts. So much had happened to her during her journey at Hogwarts, and now it was over. She could choose to go back to Hogwarts, finish her final years and get all the grades she needed. Or she could make it on her own. Save some money and start working at the ministry. Something along those lines.
A couple of weeks had passed, and Ellia filled her fathers place in Spinners End. She had several visitors, ranging from people she knew well like Panemia, to distant people she didn't know like Professor Trewlaney. Either way, the company was accepted very much so, and lightened her mood a little in the weeks commencing to Aurora and Fred's funeral. The days beforehand she had chose to stay at the Weasley's home in the Burrow, where at least she had some sort of parental influence from Molly. She'd taken care of and grown more to love Marley, as she crossed the barriers of becoming a one year old. It wasn't until Aurora and Fred's funeral that Ellia was finally reunited with Draco, as Molly had the courtesy of inviting him to comfort Ellia.
"Are you okay? I haven't heard from you in weeks, I was starting to get worried," Draco said as he greeted his girlfriend at the door of the church. Ellia smiled, brushing a piece of her black locks of hair from her black dress as she looked up at him.
"I'm fine for now Draco, it is me who should be worrying. How is your mother coping?" Ellia asked Draco, already aware of the fact Lucius was being held in Azkaban for the murder of Remus Lupin and supporting Lord Voldemort. Molly had already taken her revenge on Bellatrix by killing her.
"She's doing okay, although I mustn't leave her too long alone," Draco sighed, taking hold of Ellia's hand and almost dragging her into the church.
"I'll visit soon, it's just I've been getting used to not having people around," Ellia told him, taking her place in the church at the front.
"Chin up Ellia, they all died heroes," Draco comforted her, wrapping an arm around her shoulder as the rest of the guests entered the church. Arthur, Molly, George, Bill, Fleur, Charlie, Percy, Harry, Hermione, Ron, Panemia, Jordan, Luna, Seamus, Neville..... The list went on. It was until Aurora's remaining family came and sat beside Ellia, that she remembered the missing Echo.
"Hello, you must be Ellia," A frail women greeted her, tucking a strand of white blond hair behind her ear before faintly smiling.
"Yeah," she sighed.
"Aurora spoke a lot of you. I'm Cher, her aunt and Echo's mother. You haven't seen Echo lately have you? She's under the 'missing' list from the battle, but I hadn't heard from her before then," Cher questioned Ellia, a concerned look plastered on her face.
"No, no I'm afraid I haven't. I'm ever so sorry for the loss of your niece," Ellia said, feeling sympathy for the aunt who's daughter was missing.
"Oh don't worry sweetheart, she was your best friend," Cher said, sorrowfully looking on at the girl before pointing at Draco, "This isn't the Draco Malfoy?"
"Yeah," Draco replied.
"Oh."
"He's here as comfort for Ellia, she's lost a lot lately," Molly butted in, joining the trio before sitting behind them, "I'm glad you could make it Cher."
"Is Marley not here?" Cher asked her, still giving Draco evil looks as he sat in complete awkwardness.
"No, no. I chose to leave her at home, this stress wouldn't be good for such a little being," Molly answered, "You must come and meet her. She's the sweetest little pumpkin going."
"Her and Teddy will grow strong together," Ellia commented.
The funeral had begun, and the double coffin was carried into the room by Arthur, Ron, Ginny, Panemia, Percy and George. Ellia stayed at the front of the church, watching the coffin makes it way towards them with Molly. She couldn't bare place her hands on the coffin k owing that two of her best friends were concealed in it, holding hands like the partners they were. The coffin was placed down, as Ellia withdrew her tears and stepped towards it. Her speech. She hadn't bothered writing one, no. They were more special than a prepared speech and it needed to come from the heart.
"Aurora Grace and Fred Wealsey, where do I start? I first met Fred, with George, upon boarding the Hogwarts Express, and I've never looked back. Fred was a fun lad, him and George enjoyed playing pranks and that's something that could never be taken from them. I remember the prank on Filch, Hagrid, and I also remember him being at my bedside when I was injured. He was such a courageous man, even if he never grew up. Aurora, well I met her at my first feast and she was just, she was just my rock. My bestest friend, the one who was always there and went out of her will to protect me. And look at me now, it was her protecting me that..... that ..... that got her killed," Ellia sobbed, the tears now rolling down my cheeks,"I just can't believe they're gone at such a young age. They were, they were everything everybody could want in friends. And they've left behind such an amazing and beautiful little girl, little Marley. And I just hate the fact they can't be here to see her grow up." Molly joined her side, wrapping an arm around her as Ellia cried into her shoulder. The grieving needed to be completed in order to move on, despite her inner feelings resisting it.
"There there," Molly comforted Ellia, rubbing her back.
"It's just so hard letting go, I just don't want to see them go," Ellia sobbed, pulling herself away from Molly and out of the church. She slammed the doors behind her, in return hoping nobody else would follow. It felt to her as if her whole body had been torn apart and broken to pieces, and this was only their funeral. Next she had to face Remus and Tonks, other friends she knew well who had passed, but then Eileen and her fathers' funeral. Her heart broke more and more everyday, and now to her it seemed residing on the church garden bench crying seemed the best way to release her pain.
And for her, it seemed as if the pain would follow her for the rest of the year like a sack of something on her back.
A/N
Done 😁 This was a really short chapter, my apologies, but I didn't want to go to into depth with Aurora and Fred's funeral because, well, it's kinda upsetting. If I'm being honest, I knew when I first created Aurora that she would be killed off.
Anyway, Snape's Daughter (Book Two) is finished. I'm debating whether or not to write another book, as in book three. Would you like me to or not? I thought I've left it at a really awkward point, and I have some sort of idea of plans for a Book Three.
Thank you so much to everybody who has read, voted, shared, added and commented on this book (and book one). I can't believe the popularity of it now, it's a really happy thing to see new votes, follows and comments everyday in my notifications, I never believed Snape's Daughter would be so popular. So to you, my readers, I owe you everything because without you, I doubt I would've continued on after Book One, and just killed Ellia off. But, luckily aha, I haven't. So yeah, thank you thank you thank you thank you so much everybody.
Leave your comments, feedback etc. below ☺️ and once again, thank you 😃
