POV: 1st Person (Tobi)
So now a few days have passed, I've finally figured out what getting married is! It's that thing where Otosan and Dad spend lots of money so that they could hold hands and wear fancy rings more often! Dad had called his family and they had come over to talk about it, so they basically explained it to me. Indirectly.
Anyway, the whole part after Otosan asked Dad to marry him, it got pretty awkward on my behalf. Whenever I think back on it, it actually seems pretty nice though.
"Haru..." Dad said as Otosan leaned down and gently untied the box off of me.
"So..?" Otosan said, looking extremely nervous.
Instead of being a rational person and answering the question, Dad simply hugged Otosan really, really, really tight. I really thought Otosan was going to get hurt, but instead of looking hurt or anything of the nature, he chuckled. I really do love when Otosan smiles and laughs because it makes Dad happy which makes me happy.
I had noticed that Dad had said something to Otosan, but I couldn't really tell what it was that he said. I guess he said 'yes' because Otosan stopped being nervous and was really happy.
After feeling extremely awkward just standing there, I left the scene they had just started.
Man, that was really awkward. Otosan and Dad are back to normal now except Dad's family came over for a while and celebrated who knows what. I don't really understand these types of things if I'm going to be completely honest. I'm just glad that Dad and Otosan will be happy forever now! Hopefully we'll be able to eat some mackerel too!
