POV: 1st Person (Makoto)

"Haru, it's getting late and–"

I was about to tell Haru that it was getting late and that we should go off to bed when I felt a body smaller than my own shift slowly. I looked down to find Haru snuggled up against my chest as we laid on the couch, and I just couldn't help but smile. It seemed as though my heart had swelled and then melted into a warm puddle of a need to care for the person lying beside me.

I gently placed my left hand on his head and let my fingers glide through and play with his hair as my right arm held him securely in place. I really wish I didn't have to destroy this moment of comfort, but I knew it'd be better to wake Haru up before both of us fell asleep on the couch.

I felt a blush creep onto my cheeks only slightly as I placed a kiss on Haru's forehead, making sure to be gentle as I didn't want to startle him. Going against what I wanted, I loosened my right arm from around his small frame and untangled my fingers from his silky, black hair.

"Haru," I said as gently as possible,"wake up. Your neck might start hurting from falling asleep on the couch."

After a few seconds of waiting, I was about repeat myself seeing that Haru didn't react. I started to form the words on my lips when I heard the faintest of noises.

"Hmm?" Haru hummed as he looked up at me with his sleeping blue orbs.

It seemed to me that time had stopped when I looked down at him, seeing an entire world in his eyes as they fought to remain open. I could have just as well imagined it, but in that exact moment, I could see the waves of an ocean gracefully crash against each other. It was the most sincere sight I could have ever imagined.

"Makoto?" Haru asked in a dazed voice.

"Oh, yeah," I said, hoping he didn't see the blush that poured onto my face,"um, it's getting late, and we should really head to bed."

"Oh," Haru said, looking slightly inconvenienced as he unravelled {:')} himself from the tangled mess of limbs we'd created.

"What's wrong, Haru?" I asked, concerned by his troubled look.

"I haven't taken a bath yet," Haru said, looking slightly dejected.

Truly, it pained me to see him troubled even by such a thing as a bath, so I decided to do what any great boyfriend would do. I got up, leaving a confused Haru behind in the living room couch, and headed straight for the bathroom. After a few minutes, everything was ready for my smol dolphin.

As if it was rehearsed, Haru peeked into the bathroom while rubbing the sleepiness out of his eyes with a yawn seeping out of his mouth and leaving his perfectly pouty lips.

"Mako–"

"I hope you like bubble baths," I said with a smile, holding out Haru's little dolphin bath companion.

The face of shock left his features as he swiftly made his way closer. I thought he was going straight for the bathtub, but instead, I found his arms drape around me neck as his lips crashed into mine. After a half a second of confusion, I smile made its way onto my face as I held him closer by wrapping my arms loosely around his waist and kissed him back.

After a few seconds, we pulled away from each other as received the most grateful look a person has ever given me. I let go of the shorter man in front of me and let him do what he probably looked forward to this whole day, and that was to sit down in his bathtub and enjoy the moment he spent in there. Really, I'm glad I did this small deed for one of the most important people to me in the world.
