Part 18- Ryan's point of view (1 year ago)

"Yo Ryan!" I heard Caleb call from the other room, his voice echoed throughout the building making everyone quiver with fear unconciously, my brother had that effect on people. "Get in here!"

"One minute!" I called back, closing the suitcase in front of me after filling it with the thing that was more valuable than gold to most people. I left everything that I was doing and walked towards the room where I knew Caleb would be. I opened the large wooden door, my hand shaking as I reached out to the shiny handle, nervous and scared of what I would witness. The last time I walked in I saw my brother punch a man in the face and knock him out completely before he turned to me and said 'hi' casually as if nothing had happened.

Before I joined my brother I promised myself I would never hurt anyone and I was only in this for the family business. Its in our blood. My brother told me before he embraced me and before I knew it I was in. Since then I had punched a couple of guys but lost at least 4 days of sleep because of it, I was determined to just leave it as that, nothing more.

I turned the handle and pushed the door open to find my brother in a deep make out session with a girl who was just in underwear. Immediately I shielded my eyes as if I needed to protect them, I wasn't gay, I had just never seen a half naked girl before, I hadn't kissed a girl since I was 13, and even then it was a for a dare in school.

I cleared my throat to get my brothers attention. "You can look bro, she won't bite you" Caleb laughed.

"I'd prefer it if she left" I squeaked.

"Go into the bathroom baby, meet you there" Caleb said, I heard footsteps and the shutting of a door and I opened my eyes to find that it was now safe to look. I walked towards the desk that Caleb was no standing behind.

"You called me?" I asked.

"Yes, do you want to go to a party tonight?" Caleb asked suggestively.

"A party?"

"Yes, a gathering of people, including girls, who dance, drink, make out and sometimes get knocked up" Caleb said sarcastically.

"I know what a party is Caleb" I said with a flat look on my face.

"I'm surprised loser, you don't really have a social life" Caleb mocked.

"The business keeps me busy" I said defensively.

"Right, anyway, so a party tonight?"

"Okay, what do we have to do?"

"We have to ask Shaun for the money he owes us" Caleb replied, taking a seat.

"But isn't Shaun working with us?" I asked.

"Yes, but he was also buying and he owes us over 300 dollars" Caleb replied.

"Shit.."

"Exactly, so you have to get it off him okay?" Caleb said.

"You're going to be with me right?" I asked. Caleb was the only family I had, he wasn't just my brother, he was like a father to me and I depended on him to be there for me, wherever I went and whatever I did.

"Yeah, we'll all go! Its a party at the end of the day!" Caleb said loudly so the others could hear him and they all cheered, I, on the other hand, was not so pleased.

I knew that today someone would get hurt and that someone was my friend, since Shaun joined us he had become a good friend of mine, even though he was on drugs most of the time he was still a great guy. He told me all about his life, he lived with his parents and his little sister who he loved like she was his daughter, he thought the world of  her and he showed me a picture. She was beautiful, her brown hair flowing past her shoulders and he brown eyes shining with mystery she was standing next to Shaun in the picture with a huge smile on her face.
