Part 12 :))

"H..Hello?" I said into the reciever.

"Hey Babe! What you doing?" Jay said on the other end. I looked at Ryan who was standing in front of me and beginning to walk away, realising the awkwardness of the moment.

"N..nothing, Um..Isn't the football on?" 

"Nah, It's half time so I thought I'd give my lovely girlfriend a call" Jay said

"Oh..Um..Can I call you back later? I'm doing..Homework" I said

"Yeah Okay" Jay replied, not sounding convinced.

I pressed the 'end call' button before turning back to Ryan. We looked at eachother for a brief moment before turning away. I couldn't stand this silence.

"Ryan I.." I began but Ryan interupted me.

"No Zoe, You have a boyfriend and we should have never had this moment" Ryan said. I felt my face flush red with anger, he couldn't do this to me again.

"Ryan, I don't love Jay! In fact, I stopped loving him months ago! I was in the relationship because I felt forced. The truth is I like you!" I said all in one go. I mentally slapped myself for saying it in such a situation.

"You would leave your super popular boyfriend for a nerd like me?" Ryan asked sounding surprised.

"Yes, and you are not a nerd. You are perfect." 

Ryan looked down a smiled getting shy, it was so cute. 

"So you like me too?" I said, not waiting for an answer, "Great, I'll break up with Jay tonight and we can be together!" 

"No." Ryan said to my surprise. 

"What?!" I said, feeling tears welling up in my eyes.

"Look Zoe, I like you too but it's dangerous for us to be together. Caleb will be back and Jay would murder me.."

"No he won't!" I exclaimed. "I don't care if it's dangerous. You will always protect me. I trust you" I said moving closer to him and snuggling into his chest. He put his arm around me.

"You do?" Ryan asked.

"I do."

"So, Will you be my girlfriend?" Ryan asked.

"Yes."

I knew I had to break up with Jay so after Ryan asked me out I decided to go to Jay's house. By the time I get there the football match would be over so I would have his full attention. After getting a bus I walked down the road until I arrived at Jay's house. 

I took a deep breath before ringing the doorbell, moments later Jay came to the door. He greeted me by pulling me into a tight hug and kissing me softly. I kissed him back half heartedly. 

"Hey babe!" Jay said inviting me inside.

"Hey Jay, We need to talk" I said getting straight to the point. I had planned this for a while now so I knew what I was going to say.

"Um..Okay" Jay said leading me into the living room and sitting next to me on the black leather couch. 

I took a deep breath. "Look Jay, We've been together for ages now and you are a really great guy but this isn't working out Jay, I just don't feel the same any more." I said all in one go, I couldn't look him in the eye.

"What are you trying to say?" Jay said after an awkward silence.

"We need to break up" I said. I gulped and Jay didn't say anything. I thought he could go one of two ways: He could get really upset but not say anything and ignore me for ages or he could totally lash out at me and start yelling at me. He went the second way.

"What the hell do you mean!?" Jay said getting up. " are you stupid?!"

"No jay I am not!" I said yelling back in the same volume. 

"FINE IF THIS IS WHAT YOU WANT YOU WHORE! GET OUT OF MY HOUSE!" Jay yelled at me.

I walked out of his house with tears in my eyes. It wasn't how I expected. It was shorter, quicker but relief washed over me as now I could be with Ryan and there would be no problems. 

Right?
