Chapter 23

MACHI'S POV

"So that's your resolve? Aalis ka? Tatakbuhan mo din sya?"

Hindi sya sumagot sa akin.

"Machi, I love her and she doesn't. Tanggap ko na yon. Kaya nga magmomove on na ako."

"Ang drama mo! Naging kayo ba para mag move on ka?!"

"Is 5 years of loving her not enough reason to move on?" he shot back.

What? 5 years? Limang taon na nyang pinagpapantasyahan yung bestfriend ko?

"Magmomove on ka agad? Baka gusto mong ipaalala ko sayo na wala ka pang sinisimulan. Umamin ka lang, Saito. Yun lang yon. Ang hina mo naman e. Hindi ganon kadali ang buhay! So kung ayaw nya, wala ka nading gagawin?"

"I'm just protecting myself! Ayokong masaktan! Naiintindihan mo ba yon, Machi? I'm not the guy you all expect me to be! I'm different. I'm afraid of being hurt! And I'm sorry if you think that's a sin."

"Sino ba naman ang gustong masaktan?"

"I get your point. Ang sinasabi ko lang, I can't take the risk. Okay? Can I leave now?" he's clearly irritated. Ngayon ko lang sya nakitang ganun. And nakashades sya kaya hindi ko alam kung umiyak sya or hindi.

"You can't run away forever, Saito. You have to face the world! Hindi pwedeng habang buhay mong tatakbuhan yung mga taong gusto mo na ayaw sayo." I gave a sarcastic laugh. "Naiintindihan mo ba? You have to get hurt sometimes para malaman mong buhay ka! Pain is when you realize you're alive!"

He said nothing then continued to walk to the car.

"Bahala ka." I said, feeling disappointed.

He entered the car and one of his men closed the door. "Yes, that's right. BAHALA KA. In English, 'Mind your own business'. Right?" then he faced the driver. "Let's go."

"Saito! You're kidding right?! Bumalik ka na please? For Light? Alam nating dalawa na mamimiss ka nun. Please be there for her... "

"And who's going to be there for me?" he shook his head. "You're a great friend, Machi. But I'm afraid it's a NO."

Then they drove away, ako naman itong si takbo pabalik ng school.

Si Saito ba talaga yung nakausap ko? Siguro nga, totoo na love can change people's heart and their way of thinking.

Well, not that nakakasama ko talaga sya lagi.

But for the first time in the entire time na kilala ko sya, he REFUSED.

HUNTER'S POV

Where is he now? Kanina ko pa sya tinatawagan.

Saito... Answer the phone... Come on...

Seryoso ba talaga sya? I honestly thought na he was just half-joking. Kasi his thoughts about his feelings for Light was shifting. So I thought magbabago din isip nya agad. I didn't really think he would do it.

"Hunter! Start na daw game 3!" sigaw sakin ng team mate ko sa Sepak Takraw. Sumali nako kasi wala naman na akong masyadong trabaho. Buti nalang nagawa ko lahat ng dapat kong gawin. Kamusta naman kaya si Light?

"Wait lang."

Pag-ikot ko may nabunggo ako. Yung bagong teacher.

"Miss Yu. Sorry po." I bowed. Buti nalang hindi ganun ka lakas yung pagkabangga ko sa kanya. At buti nalang talaga hindi nagdikit yung balat namin. Di pwedeng makaron ako ng allergic reaction ngayon.
