I'm Engaged

So I woke this morning with the rock still on my fingers. Thank God I wasn’t dreaming. I called Eli again and still no answer. I got out of bed without waking Kayden and took a bubble bath. As I sat in the warm water relaxing and collecting my thoughts I began to doze off. I thought about everything, from my date with Eli and Kayden coming to visit. I even thought about Eli and why he wasn’t answering my calls. That didn’t sit right with me. He always answers, on the first ring at that. I began to doze off and forget about everything and just relaxed.

I guess I was in the tub awhile because Kayden was dressed and sitting on the toilet watching me sleep. I opened my eyes and all I seen was him looking at me smiling. “Like what you see?” I asked “Ma, you know I LOVE what I see.” he said kissing me. “How long have I been sleep and where you going dressed up?” “Baby you were sleep for about an hour and you looked r4elaxed so I didn’t want to wake you. And WE are going out to celebrate. So hurry and get dressed.” As he walked out he turned to me, “Oh yeah and your friend Eli called, I told him you were in the tub and he said to call him later.” I bathed and got out. I walked in the room and Kayden was watching football as usual. My baby loves him some football. Sometimes I wonder if he loves it more than me. “Where are we going so I know what to put on” I asked. He turned his attention to me, “ To the bed if you take off the towel.” he said joking. I just rolled my eyes and went to my closet. I pulled out a cropped Hello Kitty shirt, a pair of skinnys, and red converse (with matching accessories of course). After I curled my hair and did my make up I was ready to go. I don’t think Kayden was Cause he was still watching football. I walked over to him and stood in front of him. He just looked at me. I pushed him back on the bed and climbed on top of him kissing him passionately. I could tell he enjoyed it cause he was grabbing my ass and biting me bottom lip. When he was completely turned on, I climbed off of him, “ Let’s go.” He looked at me and smirked, “You better stop doing that before we have a problem.” “Its nothing I cant handle.” I said kissing his cheek.

We left the house and headed downtown. Kayden still wouldn’t tell me where we were going so I just sat back and enjoyed the ride. I pulled up to a ice rink. I was speechless. “Kayden what are we doing here?” “What you think we doing here, what does the sign on the building say boo?” he laughed. We walked inside and it was crowded. I nudged him and gave him a death glare. He wrapped his arms around me and we walked to pay and order our skates. We put our skates on and headed to the ice. I was nervous and scared. I’ve never been I’ve skating before. I just stood on the carpet in front of the ice. Kayden tried pulling me on the ice but I wouldn’t budge. “Baby come on, I wont let anything happen to you. I promise” he said. He let out his hand and I took it. He slowly pulled me on the ice and I began to scoot my feet. After 10 minutes of falling, I finally got the hang of it. We skated holding hands. I felt like I was in a movie. Kayden was doing tricks and stuff and I was just skating cause I wasn’t about to bust my ass doing all that. We stayed for about an hour or so the n I got hungry (which is nothing new for me cause I love to eat). “Baby I’m hun-” He interrupted before I could get anything out, “ I know baby. We’re getting ready to leave.” We left and headed to the house.

When we got to the house, my parents were no where to be found. I looked on the fridge and saw a note.

Princess, me and daddy are out for the night. Be back in the morning. Love you and be careful !

“Looks like its just us tonight baby.” Kayden said hovering over me. I looked at him and smiled. “So what you want to eat my Queen?” “I don’t know boo. Surprise me.” “Okay, go watch TV and I’ll let you know hen dinner is ready” I did as I was and told and went into the living room to watch TV. Oh did I forget to tell y’all my baby CAN COOK. I could hear Kayden in the kitchen looking through the cabinets searching for whatever he needed. He always tell me not to bother him while he ‘s cooking. If he needed something he would ask or find it himself. So I left him alone. I decided to call Eli back. This time he picked up on the first ring. He sounded depressed. “What’s wrong boo?’ I asked him. “Nothing, what’s up with you ma?” “Not much, but guess what?” “What’s up?” Eli wasn’t like Mariah or Ava, he never guessed. “I’m engaged.” There was a silence. “Eli, are you there?” “Yeah, congrats baby girl. I’m happy for you” I could tell by his voice he wasn’t happy. “Shai, can I call you later?” “Sure” I said wondering why he had to call me back. Something was wrong with my best friend and I was going to find out sooner than later. I made a note in my phone to visit Eli tomorrow to talk to him. I started to flip thru channels until Kayden came in there telling me dinner was ready. I walked in the dining room where Kayden had set the table with our food and a glass of soda. Lol yeah I said soda. Kayden doesn’t drink and I don’t either, at least not around him. But my baby had fried chicken, Mac& cheese, rice, and corn. It looked so good couldn’t wait to dig in. we said grace and dug in. “This is good baby”. I told him. “I know !” he smirked. I love that my baby knows how to cook. We don’t have to worry about going out all the time or me cooking all the time. We ate and had small talk. Mostly about our wedding and our future together. I loved this man with all my heart and I didn’t want to lose him for nothing. After our dinner I washed the dishes and Kayden rinsed them. Then we went to my room to take our showers. Kayden took a shower first and I texted Mariah to see what was up with Eli.

Me: Hey Boo J

MariahBoo: Hey baby, how’s everything going on yo end?

Me: It’s good, I’m happy to be marrying Kayden

MariahBoo: I’m happy for you babe ;)

Me: Thanks love, what’s been up with you?

MariahBoo: Nothing much, always on my pimpin, you know!

Me: Lol you silly foo’

MariahBoo: You know me .

Me: Have you talked to Eli lately ?

MariahBoo: Nah, I think some wrong with him. He hasn’t been texting me back or answering my calls. Have you talked to him?

Me: Yeah, earlier. But I felt a bad vibe when I called him. We gotta check on him tomorrow.

MariahBoo: Okay, I’ll call you in the morning. Love you boo ;*

Me: love you too ;*

I was so deep in thought that I didn’t even hear Kayden get out the shower. He looked at me, “Everything alright baby?” “No baby, some wrong with Eli. I don’t know what it is but me and Mariah gone check it out tomorrow.” Okay baby.” I got up to take a shower. The water felt so good against my body. I didn’t wanna get out. I finally got out 30 minutes later. My feet was aching so I asked Kayden if h could rub them. And he did. He rubbed till I fell asleep.

I didn’t sleep for long. I couldn’t sleep knowing something was wrong with my best friend. So I decided to text him.

Me: Something is wrong with you and I know it. Mariah and I will be there tomorrow!

ELI: Okay J

Me: I love you and goodnight

ELI: Love you to gn

I felt a little weight lift off my shoulders. So I wrapped Kayden’s arm back around me and fell asleep.
