Prologue

The Kingdom of Spades was known as the most prosperous and powerful Kingdom there was, and it wasn't for no reason. Spades was ruled by a just king, famous from his power in maintaining the vigor of the kingdom as well as its strength to protect its beloved people. The King could be ferocious if he wanted to, and the world knew better not to ignite his wrath. As if it couldn't be called perfect yet, there was the Queen, breathtaking as the moon itself shining sublimely upon the land, and the Jack, dauntless beyond words could possibly describe, loyally bowed down and followed the grand ruler.

But time didn't stopped for anybody, even for the Spades royalties. The time had come when new King, Queen, and Jack had to take over the throne. And not everybody could be the ruler. To be a ruler was to be chosen. To be the unique existence portraying the Kingdom itself.

To be born with the right of altering the Kingdom's future as he saw fit.

As the royalties were of special entities, there were few circumstances distinguishing them among people. They might be from a family of nobles, or they might be born in a family of no ranks. But one thing was for sure; the royalties always had tattoos engraved somewhere on his body, the symbol of authorization over the whole Kingdom. The tattoo would always be there, born and died with them.
