"Mommy" I heard a whisper, I turned on my side, pulling myself into tommy's back and holding him. "Mommy!" I heard again, and opened my eyes to my little boy shaking me. I sat up, Tommy sound asleep next to me, but Kian's eyes were wide open and he looked scared. Koda's head popped up from the end of Tommy and I's large bed and he looked directly at Kian.

"Mommy I feel scared" he mumbled, crawling into my lap and burying his head into my chest. I kissed his little head and laid back with him, right in between me and tommy. "Was uncle Joel  scared?" My eyes widened, and I looked at Kian, I haven't told him about Joel yet.

"...how... How do you-" Tommy was awake now, and he turned his body slightly to look at me, and Kian.

"I had a dream and he said he loves you but then there was a boom and I got scared..." I held him tighter to my body, and Tommy turned around to cradle both of us, seeing the tears running down my face.

"Uncle Joel was the bravest person I knew, baby" I kissed his head again as he nuzzled into me and Tommy.

"Uncle Joel said he's always with you" he yawned, and closed his little eyes to sleep. Tommy kissed my head, and told me not to worry, children said weird things sometimes, but I didn't know how Kian could see something like that. I didn't get much sleep that night.

----

Me and Kian sat at the table as he ate his cereal, I was exhausted, pulling the woollen wrap over my shoulders. Everyone was asleep, and I didn't bother to wake anyone up, Kian was usually the first awake anyway.

"Mommy" Kian spoke up from his cereal, looking up at me with his big blue eyes that were identical to Tommy's "where is uncle Joel?" He asked, cocking his head to the side. My lips formed a straight line and for a second I saw his eyes again, but I shook the thought out and smiled at my little boy.

"He's with the Angels" was all I could say. Kian nodded, not asking anymore questions. Koda walked down the stairs as Tommy did, rubbing his tired eyes.

"GOOD MORNING DADDY!" Kian screamed, jumping off the chair and running to him. This changed Tommy's grumpy face into a warm smile as he lifted him up. I wiped the tears that escaped my eyes when I thought Tommy wasn't looking, but Tommy saw everything. He didn't say anything about it, he just kissed my head.

"Morning"

"Your foods on the counter, babe" I mumbled, folding my arms across my chest to keep it from heaving, I refused to cry in front of Kian. Tommy set him back down in his seat and sat down across from him, eating his toast, eggs and bacon.

"You're not eating?" He asked, I shook my head, drinking some tea out of a mug. A few minutes later, Jade came downstairs, followed by Ronda, joining us at the boys are their breakfast. It was silent in the mornings usually, we just ate together, sometimes we'd watch the news. But Jade could see that I was distraught, but she didn't say anything.

"Gotta meet up with Dana today" I cleared my throat, breaking the silence. "Says he got some fight offers for you, I'm gonna check them out, run them by you and we'll go from there" Jade nodded, ruffling Kian's hair as she took everyones finished plates to the sink.

"Can I come?" Kian asked.

"No baby" he stuck out his lower lip, and it quivered a little.

"Okay" he mumbled sadly, but Jade went and swooped him up out of his seat.

"Don't worry, we're gonna have so much fun today!" She tickled Kians stomach with her nose and he started laughing, bringing smiles to all of our faces. I stood up, heading to the stairs to go get ready.

"We're gonna get you back in the gym, and I'm gonna start training you, so we can stop looking for a trainer for now" Jade gave me a big, toothy smile.

"Like old times" She grinned. No one in California knew how to train Jade like I did, and a Frank wasn't here to help all the time. "Can probably kick your ass now" I shook my head and laughed, it was time to get started for her next fight, get her in shape to fight whoever came after her belt.
