Chapter 7: Discussion With Dana

I sat at the small round table, drinking some of my beer waiting for Dana to come in. Tommy was at the bar, ordering his own drink, he didn't really like me going alone anywhere, so he always came with me. Kian was back at the house with Conor, and Jade was at Ronda's by now.
Tommy sat down neck to me, wrapping his arm around me and kissing my cheek before sipping his own beer. I looked at his hands, rough but so gentle as they held mine.

Dana White arrived at the table, smiling as he sat down with us, excited to see me, but Tommy as well. He lifted his sunglasses and they rested on the top of his head. I sat up, straightening my back and making myself look professional as possible. Tommy on the other hand didn't care about Dana at all, and remained leaning back, scanning the bar for potential threats, he was way more protective of me than he used to be.

"So, the champ has a few fight offers" Dana cleared his throat, rubbing his chin thoughtfully. "Zingano wants a shot at her and so does Correia" I thought about the fights a little, Jade could take them easily. "And Meisha Tate wants to go at it as well" I laughed at the mention of Tate, Jade already despised her as a fighter and as a person, Jade would wipe the floor with them.

"She'll fight Zingano and Tate, Correia  won't stand a chance against Jade right now, let her train a bit" I spoke calmly, but Dana just stared at me.

"Bethe is more than ready-"

"Just trust me, Jade will knock her out. Let her train herself properly and then we'll talk about setting that up, I'm only looking out for her" Dana wasn't used to people turning down his fight offers, she would fight her, but the other two would bring her more money. Tommy snickered next to me, knowing exactly how badly she would hurt her.

Dana looked over at Tommy, and knowing the business involving Jade was over, he leaned on the table looking directly at Tommy. He looked at him with blank eyes, not getting up from his casual seat on the chair, leaning into it comfortably.

"Offer still stands, I can make you into a champion" Dana reasoned again. Tommy stared at him, drinking his beer and setting the bottle down on the table as I got up and put my leather jacket on.

"I dont work with people I don't know" Tommy shrugged casually, getting up and grabbing his jacket, every time we met up with Dana, he wouldn't stop bugging Tommy. He knew how much money Tommy would bring into the UFC, and he wanted him. Tommy on the other hand didn't want anything to do with him or the UFC. I nodded my head goodbye to Dana and walked out with Tommy before he could pursue him more.

I didn't know if Tommy wanted to fight and just didn't because of me and Kian, or maybe he just didn't have reason to. The only reason he did Sparta was to help Manny and Pilar, but Jade and Brendan gave her more money than she knew what to do with and Tommy didn't really have anything to fight for.

We made it back to the house and Tommy wrapped his arm around my waist as we headed inside. "Why don't you wanna fight??" I asked curiously, turning around to look at him.  He stared at me for a while, his blue eyes boring into mine.

"I'm not angry anymore" he spoke quietly, putting his hand on my face and brushing my hair back.

"MOMMY" I heard Kian Scream from the top of the stairs, causing me and Tommy to turn around and look up at him. He stared at us, a little mask over his head and a little cape tied around his neck as He came running as fast as he could into tommy's arms and hugging him tightly. Conor came downstairs with a cape around his shoulders too, laughing as he walked up to us. "ME AND UNCLE CONOR WERE SUPERHEROES!" He yelled, pushing out his hands infront of him as if he were flying. Koda came running down the stairs too and straight to me, wagging his tail excitedly as I let him.

"I'm gonna go give him a bath" Tommy spoke, kissing my cheek and taking Kian upstairs, leaving me and Conor alone. He untied the cape from his throat and walked to the kitchen with me as I began boiling some water to prepare dinner for us.

"So, Jade get any offers?" I nodded my head, sitting on the counter and waiting for The water to boil. Conor leaned against the counter next to me.

"She's gonna fight Zingano and Tate, easy fights for her, no problem" Conor laughed, knowing as well as we do that these would be no problem for Jade. "Zingano is in a few weeks, we gotta start training her soon, you're gonna help?" He smiled.

"Of course" but then his face straightened as he looked at me. "Naomi?" He asked, and I closed my eyes as I turned away from him, knowing he was going to ask. "Kian asked.... About Joel today... Did you tell him?"

I shook my head, running my fingers through my hair. "He.. Had a dream about him... And he's been asking everyone about him ever since" I sighed, rubbing my temples. The Flashbacks were slowly coming back every now and then, no matter how hard I tried to bury them. Conor hugged me, and for a moment it felt like Joel comforting me and I felt the hot tears leave my eyes.

I pulled away from him, wiping them away. Jade would be coming home soon and I didn't want her to see me like this, I could battle this myself like I have been for so long. "Kian looks like Tommy doesn't he?" I changed the subject, making myself some tea to calm my nerves, resisting the urge to drink alcohol, for my son.

"Are you sure you're okay?" Conor asked, not falling for my façade at all, and more concerned about my mind. I nodded my head, continuing to cook as to get my mind off it.

The front door opened and Jade walked in, Ronda close behind her but Jade looked worried, sad, scared. She walked up to me and hugged me tightly, and then I hugged Ronda.

"How'd it go?" I asked smiling holding her arms and looking at her. She gave me a half smile.

"Pretty good" she chuckled nervously.

"So, I talked to Dana, you'll be fighting Zingano, and then Tate" Jade smirked, and she couldn't wait to knock Meisha's face in

"Oh I can't wait" she smiled, wrapping her arms around me and Conor "no ones taking that belt from me."
