Chapter 8: How'd It Go?

I finished giving Kian a bath and dressed him. I heard Jade and Ronda come home and me and Kian came down the stairs. I looked at Jade and she seemed upset. Ronda and Conor were talked and Jade come over and hugged me tight. "How'd it go?" I asked, genuinely curious for an answer. She paused for a bit. "It went well...I think" She spoke quietly as she hugged me. I wasn't sure if she'd talk to me about it later or not, but I guess I'd have to wait and see. "You've got a fight coming up soon so we're getting up early tomorrow and heading to the gym." I spoke, hopefully getting her mind off of tonight. She nodded and headed upstairs.

Ronda was playing with Kian and Conor decided he was gonna stay over. "Aye, I'll get the champ up and we will all go to the gym in the mornin'." Conor spoke up. "I wanna come!!" An excited Kian spoke up. "You gotta get up early, okay?" I spoke and picked him up, holding him over my shoulders.

Conor bunked up in one of the spare bedrooms and I had put Kian to bed. It was now only me and Naomi in the living room. I'm sure Jade went to bed so she could get up early. Naomi seemed off today. "Nae, you alright?" I asked. I coukd see her tense up a bit. "I'm fine, babe. I promise" She replied. I could tell something was wrong. "Naomi-" she cut me off. "I'm fine" She spoke again. I guess she'd tell me when she's ready. I just have to be patient with the girls in this house. "Alright, well, I'm gonna go check on Kian" I mumbled, heading upstairs to Kians room.

I heard a door open behind me, "Tommy" I heard Jade whisper. I turned around. "I can't sleep. It's late and I can't sleep and I don't know what to do" She spoke quickly. She seemed so nervous and upset. "Is that really what's wrong?" I whispered, crossing my arms. "It's part of it" she whispered. "Tommy, I love her and I don't know what to do. Her family may or may not like me, I've got all this shit to do with training and all the things in between. I'm stressing out" She spoke quietly. I could see worry plastered on her face. "Jade, everything's gonna be fine. She loves you too and her family will love you. Whatever else you have to do, we can get done. It will be fine I promise. Go make some warm tea, it will help you sleep." I mumbled and checked on Kian before walking downstairs with Jade.

As Jade was making tea, I scanned the room for Naomi. She wasnt in the living room and I know she wasn't upstairs because me and Jade were talking in the hallway. I decided to go down to the basement, check there before I go outside. There she was, at the bar. "Naomi...." I mumbled. I didn't even have to see her face to know what was going on. She didn't turn around to acknowledge that I was there.

I went over to her and took the drink away from her. "Give it back" She spoke, looking at me with a sad expression. "No, no alcohol. We're not going down this road again. So you're either gonna tell me what's going on, or we can sit here all day." I spoke calmly, letting my face do most of the talking. "It's back" was all she managed to say. I knew exactly what she was talking about and I knew it was gonna be a bit of a hard time for a while before she could be okay again.

I picked her up and I went upstairs to the bathroom and cleaned her up before taking her to the bedroom. I layed in bed with her and held her close. It's been a while since she's had a hard time with this. I held her and started to drift to sleep.
