It was Now bed time and the students were sleeping in the hallways. Olive and I laid our sleeping bags next to each other.
"Ok. Would you rather eat a snake, or a spider?"
"What! I'm not gonna choose neither of them."
"You have to choose-"
"No. I'm not picking."
Olive gives me a frustrated look and gets up.
"Where are you going?"
"Away from my 'no fun' brother."
"Hey!" I shouted.
She still walks away and I sighed. I looked around the place and I gazed at the girl. She had yellow hair and was also with three other girls. One with white hair, the girl with the now that I talked to earlier, and I stopped at my track as I saw her. The girl with the black and red hair with silver eyes. She lookepsnat my direction and blushes. I start to feel my face heat up as well. What's wrong with me? Then suddenly...
She walks up to me.
"Hey."
She's talking to me. She's actually talking to me. What am I supposed to do? What should I say?! Think Henry, think!
"Uh. Is something wrong?"
"No. Nothings wrong."
She gives me a smile and sits next to me.
"I'm Ruby. Ruby Rose."
"Henry. Henry Higgens."
"So, you ready for tomorrow?"
"I just can't wait for it. I mean we'll be out there, showing out our moves to become the best hunters and huntres for the rest of our lives. To me, I was born ready."
"Glad to hear you getting excited."
"Well, what about you? You excited?"
"Sure thing."
"That's cool."
"Hey. Do you think I might gang out with you some time?"
Wait. She wants to gang out with me?! Oh, this is the best say of my life!
"Oh. Sur-"
"Hey Henry. Is this your new friend?"
"Huh?"
I looked behind me and saw Olive. She also brought a friend. Ebony.
"I said is this your friend?"
"Uh."
"Hi. My name is Olive. I'm his twin sister."
"I can see. But why do you both have different eye colors?"
"Hmm. I've never asked myself that question before. How about you Henry."
Kind of think of it. Why don't we have the same color eyes as Mom and dad? Their eyes are brown, Olive's eyes are purple, and mines are blue.
"I-I don't know, sis."
"That's surprising." says Ebony.
"No. I wouldn't say surprised."
"You sure about that?" asks Ruby.
"I think so."
Ebony gives me a questioning look and then Olive yawns.
"Uh oh. Someone's getting tired."
"No I'm not."
"Is too sis."
"Well, I'll leave you guys be then. See you guys in the morning."
Ebony walks away and into her sleepingbag. Olive gets in her and galls asleep instantly. I looked at Ruby and she smiles at me. Her smile makes me smile the same way.
"Ruby. Time for bed."
I heard someone shouted. We both look back and see a girl with yellow hair waving her hands to signal her to come back. Ruby sighs.
"Well. It was nice meeting you. I'll see you tomorrow then. Have a goodnight sleep you here?"
"Yeah. You too."
She gets up and walks away. I think I've just made a new friend.
I suddenly woke up at 12:34am. I couldn't sleep. I looked around the room and everyone was asleep.
"You ok?"
I sighed. I had a weird dream again. This all started when I was just a kid. This dream would be mostly about me and Olive being little babies.
"No. I have that stupid dream in my head again."
I then felt a hand in my shoulder and gazes at Olive.
"Don't worry about that dream. I'm sure you can forget it."
"But it has been with me for the past ten years. There's got to be a reason why I'm still having this dream."
"Henry. That's what you said years ago. This is a new year. For the both of us. And we both know that it will change."
"You really think so?"
"I know so. Now get some rest. We have training tomorrow."
Olive goes back to sleep. Maybe she's right. This is a new thing for me and her. The past is gone and I need to do is to become a Hunter. For Mom and dad. And Olive.
