(Aurora's P.O.V.)
After I followed Kyra out of the sanctuary, I was grabbed by my left forearm and pulled into a dark room. I shut my eyes. Please don't be zombies, please don't be zombies, PLEASE DON'T BE ZOMBIES!!!! I thought. The thought sounded funny to me, I never thought I'd be running from actual zombies. I took short breaths and my eyes were shut tight until I was let loose from someone's grip. I dropped to the ground, hugged my knees, and tucked my head in.
"Hey, it's alright. It's just me." I'd know that voice anywhere. It was Larissa Muñoz, a friend I had made in Vegas. I looked up and saw that it really was her, then stood up, a bit embarrased. I brushed the dust off of my clothes and gave her a quick hug. "What are you doing here?" I said. "I came to visit my old friends," she replied.
"Oh, what a coinkydink!" I said, laughing. Coinkydink. Hehe.
"But I'm sure my friends are worried about me. I've gotta go find them." "No no, you can't." she said to me. "What if the zombies get to you? You don't even know where your friends are." "That's true," I agreed. "But I'm worried about them because they're probably worrying about me. I guarantee you at least one of them went out to go find me. I mean, I hope so. These are my best friends we're talking about here."
And with that, I set out.

Kyra had left us with only a shirt and a shrug in our hands. She really just went out that door. I sat there, shocked, gripping her top in my fingers, trying to comprehend everything that had happened today. I went to church. I sat in the sanctuary. Nicolette interrupted church. All of a sudden, plot twist. Nicolette gets eaten by a--- I didn't even want to think about it. No, it couldn't be! This only happens in movies... Right?
Wrong.
Was it a dream? I pinched my arm. Nothing. Then I punctured my skin with my long fingernails until I was bleeding. No, I was still there. Nothing had changed except the fact that I now had a small stream of blood running down my arm. I give up. This was most definitely real. Should I go after her? I pondered. I guess it would be the best friend thing to do. But I don't know if I'm that brave.
(Kyra's P.O.V.)
As petrified as I was, I had to go find my best friend. But what would I use to fight off the zombies? I could barely touch a bug. No way was I ever going to stand a chance against any dead people with my bare hands. I reached into my pockets. I wasn't wearing skinny jeans that night, so I could fit in a lot. A pen. I could use this to gouge their eyes out, I thought. A bobby pin. Maybe if I need to unlock any doors? A small flashlight. For if I come across a dark room. A pocket knife. When did I get that? Whatever. It sure will come in handy. A few coins. Maybe if I got hungry and wanted something from the vending machine...
I looked around. Nobody in sight, living or dead. I played the "Mission Impossible" song in my head as I crept along the walls and quietly opened doors. I opened one door and saw a girl that looked familiar. "Do I know you?" I whispered as I walked into the room. "Larissa Muñoz," she said, holding her hand out for me to shake. "Oh, you're Aurora's friend." I had recognized her from Facebook. "Have you seen her?" "She went to look for you. I don't know which way she went."
I sighed and ventured back out into the hallways.
