(A/N: This chapter is more of a filler. It doesn't really add anything to the story, I was just having writer's block at the moment. You can skip it if you want to.)

After I hung up the phone, I wanted to go get ready too. I was half ready, but to see my best friend for the first time in over a year? I wanted to wear my best casual clothes. I put on a black spaghetti strap and a light pink, one-shoulder top. Then, I added a pair of jean shorts and put on my pink hi-tops with black laces. I brushed my hair and then took a selfie to upload to Facebook.

After I walked out of the bathroom, my mom called me to sit beside her on the bed. A large, black laptop rested in her lap as her fingers glided across the keyboard. "Mmhm?" I said. "I think you should go to school while we're here." she said to me, her gaze still focusing on the screen. In my mind I was repeating all of the swear words that I know, but in real life I just said, "Oh. Okay. Why?"

Why did I have to go to school? At home in Las Vegas, school didn't start for 5 weeks. Now she was making me participate in an extra school. That meant less summer vaca for me.

"Well last year, let's admit, your grades weren't so hot. You might as well have failed." "But I didn't," I argued. "I'm going to the seventh grade now, and sure maybe I might not have been a straight A student, but at least I passed."

"Look, I know you're okay with your grades. But think about your future. I've heard you talk to Kyra on the phone about you two both going to the same fashion college that your uncle owns. But let's face it, just because your uncle owns a college doesn't mean that you're going to get in there for a fact. That would be favoritism. I'm making you do this for your own good."

Now that I thought about it, my mom had a point. I was going to school.
