(Charity's POV)

I waited in the fellowship hall with Jessica, Anna, Britt, and Kyleigh for what felt like an hour. I had been pondering over whether or not to go after Kyra. I could tell that everyone else was thinking the same thing.

Well, not Kyleigh. Kyleigh was only 3. She had no idea what was going on.

I finally broke the long-lasting silence by saying, "... I'm going after her." "Me too," said Jessica. "I guess so," added Britt. We all looked at Anna, and she stared at us with a nervous expression. "...Fine."

(Anna's POV)

The blood had dried already on my pale skin, which made it look like I drew on it with a red-orange Sharpie and let it fade. I was thinking about it when Charity made the bold decision to go after Kyra. I really didn't want to go after her. Not with all those... those things out there. I'd seen the zombie movies, and no. Just no.

"What are we going to do? We're gonna need a little self-defense," I asked, trying to sound professional instead of scared. "You're right," Jessica replied. "Everybody take out what's in your pockets and purses."

I reached into my cross body purse and pulled out my cell phone, my iPod, a few scrunchies, and my wallet with $20 in it. I laid them all into the pile of things everybody else had taken out: An iPhone 4, an HTC One, a key, a comb, a few bobby pins, a pen, $6 in ones, pepper spray, and a pocket knife. "... Okay, who brought the pocket knife and the mace?" Charity asked. Jessica raised her hand.

"Of course. I'm not even gonna ask."

(Jessica's POV)

Of course I'd bring a those things. What If I needed some form of self defense, like in case of a zombie apocalypse? They were probably the most useful things in the pile.

"Alright," I said, swinging the pocket knife around my index finger and slipping it in my pocket. "Everybody get your things and let's go."
