(Jessica's POV)
I opened the door slightly, my hand creeping slowly into my pocket just in case I needed the knife. I looked around. "Coast is clear," I whispered. Britt, Charity, Anna, and I began to file out of the fellowship hall and into the hallway. We left Kyleigh with the people who were in there when we arrived. "Follow me."
I skimmed along the walls, checking in every door we passed. I knew this would take a while. "Britt, Anna, you guys go that way. I'll go this way with Charity. Here, take the pocket knife," I muttered, removing the switchblade from my pocket. "Charity and I will use the pepper spray."
"How are we going to survive with just pepper spray?!" Charity fussed. "Don't worry. I know how to fight," I replied, maybe a bit too confidently, and handed Anna the knife.
"If we need you, we'll call," I said. "You do the same."
And then, we split up.
(Anna's POV)
I hoped Britt knew how to stab someone, because I certainly didn't. Where do you stab someone? How do you have fast enough reflexes to flip out the blade that quickly? How do you stab someone so that they'll die immediately? "Do you know how to use a switchblade?" I whispered nervously. "'Course I do," she laughed. I let out a sigh of relief and handed her the pocket knife.
"Uuuhhgggghhhhh..."
"Britt, stop trying to scare me," I breathed.
"UUUUUUHHHHGGGHHHH...."
"That wasn't me..." she said.
