(Charity's POV)
I sighed. "Sh," Jessica snapped. "Wait here," she said, slowly treading into a dark room. "But Jess--"
"I said wait here."
"Okay."
I waited out there for what seemed like an hour and finally decided to head in after her. I bumped into her after walking for about 30 seconds. "Charity! What did I say!?" she whispered. "Oops. Sorry," I chuckled nervously. "I guess the fear got to my head."
She let out an exasperated sigh. "Where are we?" I asked. I was new to this church. "How would I know? This room is usually off limits." I bit my lip. We walked in total darkness for a while, until Jessica shoved me against a cold, hard wall. "What was that for!?" I said. "Shh. Do you hear that?" she said. I didn't hear anything. I stayed silent for a moment.
Thump.
Thump.
Thump.
What is that?
Thump.
Thump.
Thump.
"Yeah, I hear it..." "Come on," she demanded. She pushed past me and grabbed my hand.
Thump.
Thump.
Thump.
"Jess, it's getting closer," I said.
Thump.
Thump.
Scream.
