I drive back to my house in complete silence. When I park in my driveway my phone starts ringing. I look at the screen it's Jake. "Hay." I say into the receiver. "Hay, how did it go?" I can hear his concern. "Fine, I'm fine." I rush my words. "Okay, well I'll let you go and I might stop by later." He suggests. "Yah that'll be fine." I smile at myself "Okay love you." He is hesitant. "Yah love you to bye." He hangs up when I'm done talking.
The first thing I can think to do us call my mom I haven't spoken to her since I decided to go ahead and move out before college.
The phone rings twice before she answers. "Hello." "Hay mom." "Hay dear how are you." She is surprised to hear from me. "I'm good how about you?" I breath. "I'm fine. Is there a reason you called dear?" I take a second to answer. "Yes mom I'm well I'm." I stop to catch a breath she is not the kind to take this stuff very well. "Your what?" She strains from my restraint. "Mom, the doctor believes I'm pregnant." I huff. "They believe as in they don't know for sure." "Yeah." "Well how many times?" "Times what?" "Don't." Is all she says. "At least twice mom." I stretch her limits sometimes. "With who?" Great. "Jake." "So he must be the dad then. At least we know that." "Yeah about that there's another guy." "Vanna." She breaths. "His names Austin." "Okay well how far apart were the two." Wow she isn't making matters better. "I don't know about 3 days apart." I hold my breath while I wait for a response. "Fuck, well I'll talk to you later call me when you figure things out." She hangs up without saying love you or bye.
I walk inside of my lovely home, and head to my room. I take in the view once more it's amazing. I hear a knock on the door. I sit my paper work down on the kitchen counter, and answer the door.
"Hay." I smile at Jake. "Hay beautiful. Can I come in he smiles. "Yah." I slightly laugh. I step out of his way so he is able to enter. "So are you sure everything went okay? You didn't sound so positive on the phone." He is concerned now. "Yah, well I have to go back Thursday and get some more test done." I try to make it sound minor. "Why?" I seen that coming. "I don't know for sure something to do with my kidneys no biggey." I smile assuring him. "Oh okay, anything else." "Oh yah I was wondering if you'd like to join me Thursday." I look at him. "Of course baby." He realizes what he called me. "Okay thanks I didn't want to go alone." I lie. If the doctor tells me I'm pregnant for sure I'll tel Jake if it's a false alarm I've learnt to be more fucking careful.
*Thursday*
I stand in the shower eager and worried at the same time for today. I know that if I'm pregnant there is almost no way I'm going to college. I finish rinsing my hair before getting put of the shower.
I stand there looking at my reflection in the mirror. My makeup makes me appear quite pretty. I straighten my hair so that all the waves from my wet hair are now gone. I'm wearing a pair of tight black leggings with a new gray tank top. I decide to put on a pair of sparies instead of chucks.
I turn my head and Jake is laying on my couch sleeping. He must've layed back down after carrying me to bed last night. "Jake, are you gonna sleep all day." I nudge him. "Mmm." He grunts. "Babe." I say loudly trying to get his attention. "Whaat?" His voice is rough and stretched out. "Your gonna be late for school." I state. "Ugh you sound like my mother." He chuckles lightly. "Well dear get up your gonna miss the bus." I joke with him. I laugh to myself as he says "okay mommy."
I smile at him before heading back into the kitchen. "Hay, what time is your appointment today?" He asks putting his shoes on. "I'm pretty sure it's at 4 so we have time to go to school and make it there on time." I yell into the living room. "Okay. I really like your place. It's almost an old modern look." He smiles as he enters the kitchen. "Yah me to."
I decide to let Jake drive his car instead of mjne. We ride on complete silence on the way to school except for a few comments on the music. We pull up to the school and I step out of the car. I look around for my friends, and my breath hitches when I see Austin pull up in his Mustang. He climbs out catching me stare. He looks me in the eyes before shaking his head and walking into the building alone.
"Is something wrong?" Jake snaps me out of my thoughts. "No uh just thinking." I smile. "Okay well I'm gonna get a head start to gym for a game or two with the guys." He hugs me before hurrying inside the building. I slowly walk into the school I earn a few stares and a few whistles from guys.
I stand at my locker gathering my books for the day when someone grabs my waist and turns me around. "Shh don't say a word." Austin hisses. Pulling me towards the locker rooms. When we step in I speak "what are you doing?" I narrow my eyes. "You shouldn't be such a whore. I'm not gonna fuck you ." He licks his lips looking at my chest. "I just want you to meet Bri my girlfriend.
